Short biography

Daan's passion is to Develop, Open and Operate leading Theme Parks and Water Parks in rapidly developing countries. For the last 10+ years, Daan has worked in the themed entertainment industry in the US, Middle East and Asia, with companies like Disney, Jumeirah, and Merlin Entertainments. Daan specialises in creating world-class guest experiences. As a Theme & Water Park Professional he delivers smiles and memorable experiences in international-level Theme & Water Parks. With a bachelor degree in Leisure Management from Breda University in The Netherlands, Daan Duijm started his career in Disney Cruise Line in The United States. Daan has been part of some of the world’s best-known entertainment and amusement park brands. Daan Duijm’s positions in the past have included: Assistant Manager at Wild Wadi Dubai, Water Park & Theme Park Attractions Manager at Legoland Malaysia, and General Manager of Indonesia’s two largest indoor theme parks at Trans Studio in Bandung and Jakarta. From 2019 until end of 2023, Daan oversaw the operations of 11 parks in 7 locations and pre-opening of new attractions and parks in Vietnam as Sun World Group Director of Operations & Set Up for. Currently Daan is consulting for various global developers who are building and operating parks in rapidly developing regions via Bamboo Attractions Management company. In the last 5 years Daan has been part of World Recording Breaking and Award-winning opening teams.  Legoland Malaysia (Attractions Manager) – Worlds First LEGO VR Coaster in 2017.  Trans Studio Cibubur (Opening GM) – Recognized as: Most influential Dark Rides of the decade by Blooloop.com for Pacific Rim Shatterdome Strike in 2019  Sun World Aquatopia Water Park (Set Up & Opening) – Awarded: Asia’s Leading Water Park, World Travel Award in 2020  Sun World Cat Ba Cable Car (Set Up & Opening) – Winner: Guinness World Record for Tallest Cable Car Tower in 2021  Sun World Hon Thom Island, Roaring Timbers Coaster (Set Up & Opening) – Vietnam’s first Wooden Roller Coaster and Observation Tower Attraction in 2022  Kiss the Stars Show (Set Up & Opening) – The worlds largest permanently installed Sea Water Cascade Projection Screen of more than 1000m2. Daan regularly presents and writes for industry magazines and associations and is always looking to be of service to improve safety, operations, and guest experiences with the aim to Develop, Open and Operate World-Class Theme Parks and Water Parks in rapidly growing countries.
