IF YOU ARE ATTENDING, YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE BY:

Use the provided shuttlebus, bike, or share a ride to and from the Convention Center.
- Bring an empty water bottle. We will have water jugs and coffee cups available throughout the event.
- Don’t bring printed business cards. Create a digital card on your phone or use the QR Code generated in the IAAPA Connect+ application.
- Respect waste separation by using the bins correctly.
- Do not take unneeded swag from exhibitors. We will donate all leftover swag.
- Recycle your badge and lanyard at the end of the event in the marked bin.
- Avoid food waste during coffee breaks and luncheons.

EVENT DESIGN AND ORGANIZATION

- Event program is delivered via IAAPA Connect+ and onsite digital totems only.
- Sessions surveys are administered digitally.
- Event coverage is delivered via social media and digital media only.
- Exhibitor promotions, manuals, and communications are delivered electronically.
- Badges and lanyards are made of recycled materials and recycling bins are placed at the end of the event to collect badges and lanyards.
- 50% of the signage used during the event is digital. Printed signage is made of recycled materials and kept to a minimum.
- Audiovisual and production rely heavily on the use of LED equipment.
- We partner with local charities to collect and donate leftover exhibitor products such as plush, games, t-shirts, supplies, and more.
- We incorporate sustainability and IDEA topics in the conference.
- We seek gender balance and diversity among speakers.
- We favor contracting diverse-owned, minority-owned, and sustainable vendors.
- We are committed to creating an inclusive, equitable, diverse, and accessible event.
- No single-use plastic is used.
- The show bag and notebook provided are made of recycled material.

CONVENTION CENTER

- The building is certified a clean energy building - 100% solar energy.
- Recycling collection bins are located throughout the convention center.
- Comprehensive waste management program achieving a 95% recycling rate in 2023.
- Employee programs have been implemented to promote circularity, shared transportation, and sustainability.
- They have partnered with local community and at-risk groups to support mental health programs and promote economic development and employment.
- The building has electric chargers for cars and buses.
- Expansions are being built according to LEED construction codes.
- GENERAL SERVICES CONTRACTOR

- Booth furnishing, carpeting, and stand materials are reused multiple times.
- Cardboard, paper, and packaging materials are recycled.
- No aisle carpet is used.
- Single-use graphics are printed on recyclable materials and are recycled after the event.
- All booth lighting is energy-efficient LED.
- Sourced materials and labor are local.
- CATERING

- China service or appropriate compostable and recyclable serviceware is used for all food and beverage.
- No bottled water is used. Water jugs are provided throughout the event.
- All produce, meat and food products are locally grown or sourced, giving preference to vendors with solid sustainable practices.
- All organic food waste generated during preparation and breakdown of food services is sent to a composting facility, reducing emissions by more than 65%.
- Consumption of water, energy, and natural gas are closely monitored.
- Chemical and hazardous waste is closely monitored and managed according to best practices.
- Viable leftover food and beverages are donated to a local organization.
- Menus are designed and consolidated following compatibility matrixes to avoid unnecessary food waste.
Exhibitor Sustainability Pledge at IAAPA Summit 2024 + Latin American Amusement Expo
As an event exhibitor, please help us deliver a more sustainable experience! IAAPA and ACOLAP invite exhibitors to participate by adhering to the event’s Exhibitor Sustainability Pledge. Participation is easy! We ask each company that is willing to take the pledge to select five or more actions and commit to them for the event. Send your signed pledge to [email protected] by March 15th to obtain a digital badge in the Connect+ application and at your booth during the event so everyone knows about your commitment to protect our planet!
