Familypark in Burgenland, Austria, is Compagnie des Alpes’ (CdA) latest acquisition. The 72.5-million-euro deal represents a succession solution for the Müller family, which has spent 50 years developing the park. Mario Müller, the park’s former owner, says “the park is in good hands” with CdA. Its investment capacity should ensure continued growth, and the group has committed to “maintaining the individual character of the park.”
“It’s a very, very nice product—well maintained and developed,” says CdA’s François Fassier. The park attracts more than 715,000 visitors a year. Sitting close to the border with Slovakia and Hungary, the park has no direct competitor. The property successfully targets families with young children. “We think that if we can keep this DNA and develop new products to welcome families with older kids, we will be able to grow this product,” says Fassier.
