Did you know IAAPA is governed by a board of directors? The IAAPA Board is pivotal in the Association’s success by establishing and guiding our strategic priorities. Last month, the IAAPA Governance Committee announced nominations for the 2024 IAAPA Board of Directors will be accepted until June 30.

Join David Rosenberg, chair of the IAAPA Governance Committee, and David Mandt, IAAPA’s Chief Governance Officer, as they share and answer questions on the ins and outs of applying for and serving on the IAAPA Board of Directors. 
 
The webinar will be presented in English and is free to IAAPA members and non-members; however, registration is required. David Mandt, ICAE

IAAPA Chief Governance Officer and Executive Director IAAPA Foundation

David Mandt is IAAPA’s Chief Governance Officer and the executive director of the IAAPA Foundation. He oversees the association’s legal and governance compliance and our partnerships with other industry-related organizations. With more than 40 years’ experience in the attractions industry, David has been with IAAPA since 2006. His career began in 1981 as a ticketing and parking host at Paramount’s Carowinds theme park in Charlotte, North Carolina. He remained in the attractions industry with Paramount Parks for 25 years. During that time, he held many senior leadership positions at Paramount’s Kings Island, Star Trek: The Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton - Las Vegas and Paramount’s Carowinds and later as vice president, advertising and corporate communications for Paramount Parks.

David Rosenberg is Vice President at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and has been with the aquarium since 2007. Hosting over 2 million guests annually, the Aquarium is recognized throughout the world as both a leading attraction and a global force for ocean conservation. A graduate of the University of Arizona, David’s career includes stops at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

He is a member of IAAPA where he served as the 2019 Chairman of the Board of Directors and was the first chair to come from the zoo, aquarium and museum industries. He led many IAAPA committees and is now Chairman of the IAAPA Governance Committee and a member of the Sustainability Committee. Some of his industry accolades include receiving IAAPA’s prestigious “Outstanding Service Award” for his contributions to the global industry. David recently received the “Congressional Recognition Award” by the United States Congress for his leadership and contributions to the community.

David serves as a mentor and advisor for the schools of business at University of Arizona and California State University, Monterey Bay and is also an active member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, where he is the chair of the Aquarium Affairs Committee.
