Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge features two E-ticket attractions:
- “Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run”: The first of two rides places visitors at the controls of the fabled starship, sometimes referred to as a “bucket of bolts.” Passengers go on a mission for known smuggler, Hondo Ohnaka, who gives instructions as a life-size Audio-Animatronic in the queue line’s preshow. Six riders at a time enter the cockpit from the ship’s starboard airlock and actively control the action seen outside the window, and sensations felt within the ride capsule. Two passengers will become pilots, two others will man weapons as gunners, and two will serve as engineers. Each knows it’s their turn to act when buttons light in the cockpit. Interactive gameplay and media designed by Industrial Light & Magic power the gaming platform.
- “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance”: The second E-ticket attraction will open later this year at both Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, what Imagineers call “phase 2.” The “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance” is heralded as the most-epic attraction Disney parks has ever created. The experience starts in an outdoor queue where an A-wing and X-wing fighter are nestled in the woods. Once inside, riders will experience a story where they are transported in a variety of ways beyond the traditional dark ride. Imagineers promise a non-linear story, where being taken prisoner involves several rides wrapped together in one attraction.
