Andreas Andersen Joins Tivoli Gardens
Andreas Veilstrup Andersen, CEO of Liseberg in Gothenburg, Sweden, since February 2011, recently accepted the role of executive vice president at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark. Liseberg notes that under his leadership, the park has undergone major changes, including the opening of two world-class roller coasters, “Helix” and “Valkyria,” and embarked on its largest expansion ever with an on-site hotel and indoor water park. In 2018, Andersen served as IAAPA chairman.
Triotech Names Global, Latin America Sales Executives
Triotech has named Eric Beauregard vice president global sales and Salim Sabbagha director of sales for Latin America. Beauregard will lead the company’s sales organization globally and further develop Triotech in the attractions industry. The company says he has a strong track record of developing and leading international sales organizations focused on growth. Sabbagha will be Triotech’s first point of contact for sales in Latin America. According to the company, he has strong knowledge of the region and has played an instrumental role in the closing and support of many large projects since he joined Triotech in 2011.
Sega Merger
Sega Amusements International (SAI) announced the merger of Sega Prize International (SPI) with Sega Total Solutions (STS) to create an all-encompassing one-stop solution for its customers. SAI says the combined experience and expertise of both these departments under one STS umbrella will offer customers the best products and service. STS is a supplier of spares and redemption tickets, and SPI brings plush and electronic products to the amusement market. With the addition of SPI, the spares, service, and workshop will continue to focus on supporting customer needs in each of the specialized areas.
New Role at Efteling
Olaf Vugts, creative director at Efteling theme park in Kaatsheuvel, Netherlands, is now the park’s new concept leader. In this role, Efteling says Vugts is no longer on its board of directors but will focus on projects that will be innovative. Koen Sanders, who heads the park’s marketing and communications departments, will concentrate on the formation of creative concepts as director of commerce, creation, and development, which includes the park’s design and development department.
Changes at wiegand.maelzer
Following more than 12 years of successful international and cooperative development of wiegand.maelzer GmbH, Rainer Maelzer decided to leave the company at the end of May 2019. The company says he succeeded in expanding the market position of wiegand.maelzer from a European manufacturer of water slides to a global player. His longtime business partner and managing director Hendrik Wiegand has taken over management of the company. The company announced wiegand.waterrides GmbH will be its new name, as it brings fresh designs and innovative new product ideas to market. The company notes it is planning to collaborate with WhiteWater in order to further advance its success and meet market demands.
Laura Crossley
A Different View (ADV) has welcomed Dr. Laura Crossley to its associate team. She has a decade of experience working in museums, heritage projects, and the arts and specializes in strategic planning, visitor experience, audience development, evaluation, partnership development, programming, and interpretation. ADV says Crossley is also a skilled trainer and facilitator and has experience in developing funding bids. Crossley is an experienced speaker and has presented at seminars and conferences in the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America. According to ADV, her appointment to its associate team is one of several to come as it expands its international work and ambitions.
Michael Pharr
Michael Pharr has joined ITEC Entertainment Corp. as a senior project manager. Pharr has more than 30 years of experience in themed entertainment and will be responsible for resource management, planning, and production for attractions and other experiential projects. Pharr spent 14 years as a chief estimator and project manager for McGillivray Consulting Group, where he was later promoted to director of its new attractions and construction management division. Pharr also spent time as a project estimator for Universal Orlando Resort.
