ORLANDO, Fla., US (Feb. 12, 2019) – IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, announced Josh Powers has joined the organization’s team as executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO). Powers will serve as IAAPA’s strategic advisor on all financial issues impacting IAAPA’s global mission and service offerings, including financial analysis, investments, asset and cash management, and financial functions that support the overall growth and sustainability of the association. In addition, he will lead the finance and information technology teams.
“As we continue to strengthen the support we offer our members around the world, we are excited to have Josh join the team,” said Hal McEvoy, president and CEO, IAAPA. “Josh brings a solid background in finance and financial reporting along with strong industry knowledge and passion. His experience in hospitality and the theme park industry coupled with his leadership skills will be key assets as he serves and supports our global members.”
For the last 10 years, Powers has served in financial roles in the corporate offices of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, most recently as corporate vice president, financial planning and analysis. Prior to that, he served as director of accounting and assistant controller. Josh also spent 12 years in various roles with Busch Gardens Williamsburg before relocating to Orlando, Florida.
Powers holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Virginia Commonwealth University and a Master of Business Administration from Webster University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.
Reporting directly to McEvoy, Powers will be based in IAAPA’s global headquarters in Orlando, Florida. He will join the team in March.
