Board of Directors

IAAPA is governed by a board of directors that supervises, directs, and controls the policies and programs of the association. Each has a fiduciary duty to be loyal to the association, act in its best interests, avoid conflicts of interest, maintain the confidentiality of association information, and avoid utilizing the office for personal gain. The 25 directors are chair, first vice chair, second vice chair, immediate past chair, treasurer, president/CEO, 15 elected facility or life member directors, three manufacturer and supplier member directors, and three advisory board member directors.

Important Message about the 2021 IAAPA Board of Directors

Given unprecedented circumstances created by the global coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 IAAPA board and committee members have been asked to remain in place through 2021. This decision was made to:

1. Provide much-needed stability for the association during these unprecedented times.
2. Allow the board and committees to reevaluate their 2020 work plans and refocus on key initiatives in 2021 that they are not able to address this year.
3. Help the IAAPA team focus on assisting members through the pandemic rather than spending time recruiting and orienting new board and committee members.

As a result, we are not accepting applications for the 2021 IAAPA Board of Directors. If someone is unable to remain on the board for the extended term, the IAAPA Governance Committee will identify and recommend candidates to fill any openings. We plan to resume our normal procedures for selecting board and committee volunteers in the summer of 2021 for 2022.

In the meantime, we are always seeking volunteers. A list of volunteer opportunities within IAAPA is available here on our website. Prior IAAPA volunteer service is always considered when the Governance Committee evaluates potential candidates for the IAAPA Board of Directors.
