IAAPA is kicking off with a series of webinars about sustainability. In this first webinar, we look at starting a sustainability journey within an organisation. 

Based on three case studies, the panel will discuss what challenges we face and what key leverage points we can use when addressing sustainability.

Andreas Veilstrup Andersen is the CEO and President of the Liseberg Group, Sweden – operating one of Scandinavia’s most visited amusement parks. Andreas has a legal and financial background and has been working in the amusement park industry since 2000. First in several capacities at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark, later as Vice President of European operations at IAAPA EMEA in Brussels, Belgium. Andreas was the 2018 Chairman of IAAPA and is the current Chair of the IAAPA Global Sustainability Committee.

Iliana is a woman passionate about tourism, nature and Maya culture; commited with people’s wellbeing and development. 

She majored in Economic Studies; has postgraduate degrees on Leadership, Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Maya Culture and has a master’s degree in Corporate Communications and Marketing. She graduated from the IPADE’s Senior Management Program and is a Certified Business Coach.

She lives in Cancún and has been working at Grupo Xcaret for more than 29 years. She started in the sales department when the company recently opened.

Since 2015, she was responsible for the Corporate Social Responsibility Department where she focused on the sustainability strategy for Grupo Xcaret.  She is Board Member for the UN Global Compact in Mexico; Member of the IAAPA Sustainability Committee and Member of several national organizations’ sustainability committees. 

Due to her profound knowledge of the organization and her sense of human dignity and love for nature, since December 2019, she was appointed as Chief Sustainability Officer, in order to further the sustainability strategy for Grupo Xcaret demonstrating that companies can be successful and sustainable at the same time.

She holds a Diploma in Business and a degree in Economics. After having developed her career for 12 years at the multinational BASF, where she held different positions related to logistics and supply chain; she joined PortAventura in 2007.

The department she leads, encompasses the areas of Procurement, Logistics, Legal Advice and Corporate sustainability. The last 5 years has been specially focused on developing the PortAventura World Strategic Sustainability plan, for this role she reports directly to the company Board of Directors.

Liseberg

Ylva Linder is the Sustainability Manager of Liseberg, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sweden. Liseberg amusement park is visited by around three million guests each year.

Ylva is a chemical engineer and environmental specialist with 20+ years of experience in the field of sustainability from several different companies and industries. 

She joined Liseberg in 2015 and leads the work with overall strategic and operational sustainability management including strategy, ISO certification, training, reporting and continues improvement. 

She is also a member of IAAPAs sustainability committee.
