One-on-One on 'Orion'

Like the constellation it’s named after, “Orion” is the tallest roller coaster on the Kings Island skyline in Mason, Ohio.  Constructed and opened in the middle of a global pandemic, “Orion” is a shining star. From the telephone call that every manager hopes to receive and naming rights, to engineering a roller coaster of this magnitude and working alongside an iconic design partner, Kings Island Vice President and General Manager Mike Koontz shares the oral history of the park's new Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) giga coaster.
