BRUSSELS, Belgium – IAAPA, the global association for the attractions industry, today announced registration is now open for IAAPA EMEA Trade Summit, set to take place Feb. 2-4, 2021 at Europa-Park in Rust, Germany. During this inaugural event, the global attractions community will come together to connect, take part in networking opportunities, learn during innovative and informative keynote sessions, and explore an exhibition showcasing the industry’s newest products and services.
“We are thrilled to launch this new, unique event which will include a trade show experience, education sessions and networking opportunities at one of Europe’s most popular attractions,” said Jakob Wahl, executive director and vice president, IAAPA EMEA. “As the attractions industry focuses on moving forward, we understand the importance of providing opportunities that help professionals connect, become inspired, and build new partnerships to help further their businesses. IAAPA EMEA Trade Summit was developed to help industry professionals come together in person and meet those goals.”
During the three-day Summit, industry manufacturer and supplier companies will display their latest products and services in Europa-Park’s Confertainment Center. Summit participants will also have the chance to take part in behind-the-scenes EDUTours at Rulantica, Europa-Park’s new water park, and the park’s newly reopened “Piraten in Batavia” attraction.
Dr.-Ing. h.c. Roland Mack, founder of Europa-Park, will open the event and discuss disruptive changes during the 230-year history of the family business, and why it is vital to change your strategy proactively and not to wait until you are forced by external developments.
A closing keynote will feature special guest speaker Doug Lansky who will share new insights and ideas to help attendees futureproof their businesses. Lansky has lectured at more than 100 universities, given TEDx Talks, presented at the National Geographic Headquarters for the United Nations World’s Tourism Organization, at Google Travel, Booking.com, Amadeus, ITB Berlin, and more than 100 destinations around the world. Additional education sessions will cover and address a wide range of topics and issues important to the global attractions industry, and participants can earn up to six (6) credit hours towards IAAPA Certification.
“The health and safety of our Summit participants is our number-one priority,” shared Wahl. “As we prepare for the EMEA Trade Summit, we are working alongside the team at Europa-Park to ensure we produce a safe and successful event. We are following the latest guidance for large groups and meetings from Baden-Württemberg, the local German council, as well as the standards IAAPA developed for the attractions industry in its Reopening Guidance.”
