Next-Generation Upgrade of Laser Cinedome
D3D Cinema and Christie have announced what the companies term a groundbreaking, next-generation upgrade to the Laser CineDome platform. D3D says the Gen 2 Laser CineDome system features a vastly expanded contrast ratio, producing greater than 90% of the REC 2020 color space for “richer color and stunningly lifelike visuals.” With CineDome’s frame rate capability of up to 120 frames per second, 6K resolution, and enhanced playback functionality, the Gen2 Laser CineDome package delivers dazzling and immersive cinema. Gen2 utilizes Christie’s new D4K40-RGB pure laser projector, with greater contrast ratios delivered along a patented optical path. Gen2 operates on single-phase 220V power and doesn’t require specialized exhaust for heat dispersal.
