Universal Running Event Races Through Hollywood Movie Sets
Universal Studios Hollywood held its inaugural Running Universal event with great success. When registration for the Saturday 5K Minion Run surpassed expectations, the park offered runners a second race the following Sunday. Thousands of runners began showing up at 4 a.m. for the race through the streets of the theme park. Many runners found it irresistible to stop along the way for photos with “Minions” movie characters posted at movie sets belonging to “Jaws” and “War of the Worlds,” and rides like “Fast & Furious – Supercharged.” The finish line was located at Universal CityWalk Hollywood. Runners received Running Universal T-shirts and collectible Minion pins to commemorate their participation.
Following the positive turnout, Running Universal will offer an autumn race at Universal Studios Hollywood with the “Jurassic World” 5K Run and Kids’ 1K Raptor Run on Nov. 16, 2019.
