Letter from the President and CEO
DEAR IAAPA MEMBERS:
Friendly warning: this issue of Funworld will make you hungry for the culinary delights tempting taste buds at attractions around the world!
Guests from different corners of the globe have great expectations for attention to safety, great service, world-class entertainment, and the tastes only members of the global attractions community can deliver.
Food is such an important part of our lives, and this issue exemplifies how hearty helpings are also a part of the guest experience. From comfort items to exotic menus, food plays a large part in the memories we make with family and friends.
As I have traveled around the world visiting IAAPA member attractions, I’ve had the good fortune to sample local fare from Hong Kong and Germany to Brazil and Australia. IAAPA Leadership Conference 2019 in Dubai took us to Global Village, where about 6 million guests annually dine on Japanese, Thai, Mexican, and Emirati cuisine, as well as a host of dishes from around the world, served at 23 restaurants and 120 kiosks. The variety reminds me of how dedicated our food and beverage teams are when delivering best-in-class quality and innovation.
Back in the United States, I look forward to fried pickles, barbecue, French fries, and soft serve ice cream on a warm evening … along with carrot cake, gelato, and fresh popcorn (told you that this would leave you hungry for more)!
Here’s to a remarkable start to summer in great taste.
IAAPA President and CEO
