Dear IAAPA Members:
It is a privilege for Team IAAPA to organize our global expos, meetings, and events. We continue to be grateful for the support of our members who share our common goal to further develop the global attractions industry. IAAPA members understand we are stronger together, as we hold ourselves to a higher standard delivering safe and quality experiences.
This year, the IAAPA Europe, Middle East, and Africa region hosted events in the Canary Islands for the first time, visited Finland, and toured Russia. The hospitality was second to none, and just as impressive was how IAAPA members once again shared of themselves: what worked, what didn’t work, and what they have in store for the future. When IAAPA connects members in person, no questions stay unanswered and no door stays closed. IAAPA provides the framework, while our members provide the heart and soul.
That same spirit will be at work at IAAPA Expo Europe in Paris, France, this month. Team IAAPA is excited to host a dynamic opening reception, a magical evening at Jardin d’Acclimatation—an impressive attraction waiting to be discovered, educational presentations, panel discussions, roundtables, social events, and committee meetings, with plenty of time to socialize after exploring the trade show floor. This connective framework brings all of us together.
We continue to evolve IAAPA Expo Europe to present the latest innovations. This year’s Virtual Reality (VR) Arena at IAAPA Expo Europe is a wonderful example of how we’re staying nimble. For the first time, exhibitors will have the opportunity to showcase major attractions to attendees in an environment promoting 3D modeling in a free-roaming VR space.
What amazes me about this industry: We all work hard and are often competitors, but in the end, we truly care for each other and don’t waste any opportunity to sit with each other and exchange ideas and experiences. And that makes us strong, as an industry and as an association. As long as we continue to make safety our top priority, stay connected, and share key learnings for the benefit of all, we have a great future ahead.
Looking forward to seeing you in Paris.
IAAPA Europe, Middle East, Africa Operations Vice President and Executive Director
