IAAPA North America Hosts ‘Meet IAAPA’ Events to Connect Members
More than 220 attractions industry professionals came together for three “Meet IAAPA” events held across the United States from August to October. In 2019, IAAPA North America hosted a total of seven events to introduce attractions industry professionals to the association and its benefits, as well as connect members with one another and IAAPA team members.
August’s “Meet IAAPA” event at Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, Illinois, offered more than 100 attendees an evening of networking, food, and drinks, as well as the chance to meet Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck and ride the park’s new roller coaster “Maxx Force.”
In September, 62 attendees from 14 states and six countries got a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into designing and building the floats and attractions for New Orleans’ Mardi Gras season each year at Mardi Gras World. Under the backdrop of towering oak trees and the Grand Oaks Mansion lit by Mardi Gras’ signature green, gold, and purple colors, attendees connected with fellow industry colleagues and were immersed in a vintage Louisiana experience.
“Meet IAAPA” at Dave & Buster’s in Marietta, Georgia, welcomed 50 attendees for a night of games, networking, and
dining in October. The event presented an opportunity to preview the city location for IAAPA FEC Summit 2020, which will take place in Stone Mountain, Georgia, at the Atlanta Evergreen Marriott Conference Resort from Jan. 26 to 28, 2020.
