Across three days and two cities, 92 attractions industry professionals participated in IAAPA Asia Pacific Summit 2019 in October to network, learn from industry leaders, and experience the unique attractions of Hainan, China. The attendees—from countries including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, and Vietnam—arrived at the Mission Hills Resort Haikou convention center and heard from Tenniel Chu, vice chairman of Mission Hills Group, who presented on “Reflections on Leadership for the Attractions Industry.”

The first day also included facility tours to Huayi Brothers Feng Xiaogang Movie Town Haikou and Mission Hills Centreville Haikou, with visits to Barça Experience Haikou, NBA Interactive Experience Center, and Wet ’n’ Wild Haikou.
The summit’s second day took attendees to Atlantis Sanya, where they got an up-close look at Aquaventure Waterpark, The Lost Chambers Aquarium, and Dolphin Cay. They also participated in a Lunch and Learn session with insights on operational safety, moderated by Scott Deisley, managing director of SST and Jeff Ellis International. Yik Ho, assistant vice president of resort services at Galaxy Macau; Alan Mahony, vice president of Aquaventure at Atlantis Sanya; and Hani Salama, Mytikas Waterpark director, Hainan R&F Ocean Paradise, spoke at the Lunch and Learn.
