Swim with humpback whales, float in outer space, journey to the lost world of Atlantis, or fly through a canyon in a wing suit. Ballast launched its newest product, VR Snorkeling (Booth #8180), in November 2018. It is now at 13 water parks in five countries, including Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
Each guest wears a virtual reality (VR) headset, snorkel, and anchored flotation device while in a swimming pool for a weightless experience as they explore the VR content of their choice. Lifeguards in the water provide assistance and ensure guest safety. VR Snorkeling is an ideal first-time snorkeling experience.
Expanding on the capabilities of VR Snorkeling, Ballast launched DIVR+ at IAAPA Expo. The motored apparatus is secured underwater to the side of a swimming pool. Users hold the handles while wearing the VR Snorkeling gear to simulate riding a water scooter. DIVR+ is programmed with ocean content so users feel like they are chasing a shark or swimming through a shipwreck.
