When Texas’ tallest, longest, and fastest wooden roller coaster opens at SeaWorld San Antonio next spring, it will soar on the wings of a majestic stingray, courtesy of Great Coasters International (Booth #2273). During a press conference on Tuesday, the partners unveiled the ride car for “Texas Stingray,” the 3,379-foot-long wooden coaster built to offer an exciting ride and inspire interest in its natural namesake. The ride features a 96-foot-high lift hill and plunges 100 feet. It also reaches a top speed of 55 mph and is designed with 16 airtime moments. “For over 55 years, SeaWorld’s purpose has been to inspire people to protect animals and the wild wonders of the world that we share,” said Chuck Cureau of SeaWorld San Antonio. “We are confident that when people come to SeaWorld San Antonio in spring of 2020 and ride ‘Texas Stingray,’ they’re going to appreciate the great ride, but they’re also going to appreciate the animals.”
