Exhibitors

Now that IAAPA Expo Asia 2020 is postponed, will I receive a full refund? What are my options?

If exhibitors have made their 50% deposits, the following process will apply:

Option 1
Refund paid booth deposit, less IAAPA expenses in line with the exhibit contract language. 

Option 2
Full deposits moved to IAAPA Expo Asia 2021 in Macao. The exhibit rates will remain the same. 

What is the IAAPA Expenses if we select Option 1?
After careful analysis and calculation, the IAAPA expenses are determined to be 15% of deposit paid.

What is the refund process?
Please contact the IAAPA Exhibit Sales Team on or before April 17, 2020 if your company has selected Option 1.  The goal of our finance team is to issue refunds within 60 days from the date of request.

When is next payment due if we select Option 2?
Exhibitors are required to have paid the minimum 25% deposit by April 27, 2020, and all remaining balances will follow the IAAPA Expo Asia 2021 Contract terms.

I have already shipped my items to Macao. Will I receive a refund for shipping costs?
Please work with your shipping provider regarding any costs that you have incurred thus far. Unfortunately, IAAPA cannot reimburse exhibitors for any shipping expenses. 

Will IAAPA refund me for hotel and travel expenses I have already booked for Macao? 
The official host hotel of IAAPA Expo Asia is the Venetian Macao Resort Hotel. According to the resort’s policy, cancellation can be made up to 14 days prior to arrival. More information can be found on the Venetian Macao’s website here. IAAPA cannot reimburse exhibitors for any hotel and travel expenses booked thus far.

I am an IAAPA 2020 Global Exhibitor. Now that the show is postponed, will I maintain my status? 
If your company is contracted for all three 2020 IAAPA Expos (IAAPA Expo Asia, IAAPA Expo Europe, and IAAPA Expo) you will be recognized as a Global Exhibitor for the year even with the postponement of IAAPA Expo Asia.

How does the postponement affect my seniority? 
All contracted exhibitors will also receive one year of exhibit seniority as though the event was held.

What if I have already purchased tickets to special events at IAAPA Expo Asia 2020?  
All special event tickets purchased by exhibitors will be refunded.

Will IAAPA postpone IAAPA Expo Europe 2020 in London or IAAPA Expo 2020 in Orlando?
We remain committed in moving forward with IAAPA Expo Europe 2020 in London in September and IAAPA Expo 2020 in Orlando in November. Expo preparations are moving forward as planned.  

Where and when will IAAPA Expo Asia 2021 be held? 
IAAPA Expo Asia 2021 will be held in Macao, China.

Sponsorships

I am an IAAPA 2020 Global Exhibitor. Now that the show is postponed, will I maintain my status? 
If your company is contracted for all three 2020 IAAPA Expos (IAAPA Expo Asia, IAAPA Expo Europe, and IAAPA Expo) you will be recognized as a Global Exhibitor for the year even with the postponement of IAAPA Expo Asia.

What will happen should we opt for a refund for IAAPA Expo Asia 2020, in regard to sponsorship for IAAPA Expo Asia 2021? Will we lose first right of refusal status? 
Should your company choose to opt for the refund option for IAAPA Expo Asia 2020 and not roll the sponsorship and payments over to 2021, you will lose the first right of refusal status. 

Will sponsorship rates increase in 2021?
Sponsorship rates may increase in 2021. You will be able to secure a sponsorship in the future when sponsorship opportunities open again to all IAAPA members. 

What sort of payment plan options are being offered to sponsors? 
We understand this is an unprecedented time around the world. Should you have any concerns about paying the sponsorship deposits or balances in a timely manner, please contact the IAAPA Sponsorship Team ([email protected]) to inquire about flexible payment plan options. We will handle these on a case-by-case basis and will depend on each company’s individual circumstances. Our team looks forward to assisting you as best we can. 

Are there opportunities for virtual sponsorship at this time? 
IAAPA is exploring possible virtual opportunities in the future. We will be sure to reach out to members for more information regarding any virtual sponsorship and advertising opportunities. Advertising

What options are available for moving ad dollars from the IAAPA Expo Asia 2020 Program ad plan into other advertising opportunities? 
You can apply your IAAPA Expo Asia 2020 ad dollars toward another 2020 advertising opportunity, or reserve ad space now for IAAPA Expo Asia 2021 Program, locking in your current cost now for 2021. You will receive the same opportunity including any specific positioning for 2021. 

The following are more details about options.
 
Option 1: Apply your IAAPA Expo Asia 2020 ad spend to any of the following. 

• Funworld: the official magazine of IAAPA — choose from June through November 2020 issues. 
• IAAPA News Daily: digital ad, this e-newsletter reaches over 15,000 opt-in subscribers each day. 
• IAAPA.org: digital ad, reaches the global attractions industry 24/7.
• Trade Show Programs: IAAPA Expo Europe 2020 or IAAPA Expo 2020 Programs. 
• Show Daily: daily publication delivered 3 consecutive days at IAAPA Expo. 

Option 2:  Move your advertising to IAAPA Expo Asia 2021 Program Guide, locking in the same 2020 cost for 2021. 
 
Option 3: Cancel your advertising for IAAPA Expo Asia 2020 Program Guide. Important: If you choose this option, any “grandfathered” rates will be declined for 2021, which will be opened to all IAAPA members on a first-come, first-served basis.
