Join a new, exciting event format: IAAPA Webinar + Exchange, where participants will learn from an IAAPA Webinar and then connect with peers in a small group setting.
During this webinar, Shaun Hutchinson, General Manager of URBNSURF, Australia’s first surf park, as he reflects on the opening and ongoing management of a number of unique attractions that Shaun has been privileged to be a part of and shape their success. Get an insight into some of the pressures and unique challenges faced by General Managers within the attractions industry, and hear of some innovative and practical operational solutions to keep the investors smiling.
IAAPA Exchange presented by the IAAPA Young Professionals Sub-Committee: There will be a 5-minute break when the Webinar concludes and then participants are invited back to for an Exchange session where networking discussions will be held in small groups. The speaker will be available in the small group discussions to continue the conversation and answer questions.
Participants will earn 1 CEUs for Webinar and 0.5 CEUs for Webinar Exchange toward IAAPA Certification renewal.
Shaun is an experienced leisure and entertainment professional with over 18 years of industry experience. He has diversified experience at both launching and operating a variety of leisure experiences which include Wild Wadi Waterpark, Ski Dubai, iFLY Dubai, Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, Hub Zero, Wet’n’Wild Sydney, and URBNSURF Melbourne. Shaun has a Master’s degree in Business Administration. Shaun is currently the General Manager of URBNSURF Melbourne, Australia’s first surf park.

Cassidy Newman is both a passionate storyteller and Communications Specialist. Her expertise is event planning, marketing, and public relations and she is driven by the creation of engaging content that not only resonates but brings the message alive. Cassidy is a recent graduate from Simon Fraser University where she studied Communications and Business is currently completing her Masters in Strategic Marketing. Introduced to the world of entertainment through internships at Walt Disney World, Cassidy offers five years of experience in the industry. Her eye for business, training in communication and a large, playful imagination, helps Cassidy collaborate with stakeholders to deliver successful marketing campaigns. She currently sits on the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Young Professionals Subcommittee.
