We are in the business of making people happy. We can all agree that making people happy is not only a great thing to do for a living - it is meaningful. The pandemic has shown us all how we need a social connection to people and shared experiences. The experiences that our industry creates have immense value for individuals’ mental health and for our social fabric, strengthening the bonds between families and friends by creating joyful memories. This webcast explores some of the science behind memory-making, and the experience design that leverages that to create emotionally rich venues and how operators can mindfully make moments that last lifetimes and drive rave reviews.

Andreas Veilstrup Andersen is the CEO and President of the Liseberg Group, Sweden – operating one of Scandinavia’s most visited amusement parks. Andreas has a legal and financial background and has been working in the amusement park industry since 2000. First in several capacities at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen, Denmark, later as Vice President of European operations at IAAPA EMEA in Brussels, Belgium. Andreas was the 2018 Chairman of IAAPA, and currently holds board positions at Farup Sommerland and LEGO House in Denmark, as well as Leo’s Lekland, Europe’s largest chain of FEC’s. Evan is a 24-year veteran of the waterpark industry. Evan holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State University, Sacramento, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. Under his leadership, the park has received the Executive Board Award from the World Waterpark Association and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Brass Ring Award for the best employee recognition program and voted Top Workplaces in both Houston and Austin markets.
Through her Civil Engineering degree, Emily always had a passion for design. She joined WhiteWater in 2012, and has been intimately involved in over 100 projects globally that are operating with success. She works to come up with creative solutions that can target untapped demographics in a clients park. She walks through the vision, final design, look and feel, color selection and any other aspects until your utmost satisfaction is reached and the rides are synonymous with your vision.
Taylor Jeffs is the President and Chief Creative Officer for Legacy Entertainment- one of the world’s preeminent entertainment design firms. He has overseen the creation of over 40 successful theme parks, attractions, and destination resorts around the world. Mr. Jeffs was named by Blooloop as being one of the 50 most influential figures in the theme park industry.
Since she was 7 years old, Denise has been developing innovative entertainment attractions, gaming experiences, storyworlds, toys, and waterplay concepts for families around the world. Creations with her trademark spin on story-rich play and immersive technology can be found at major theme parks and family entertainment facilities worldwide. Denise is the inventor of over 120 patents including MagiQuest and other award winning inventions.
As a trained psychologist with more than 20 years of clinical practice and research in play theory, her attraction designs come to life with a rare kind of authenticity. She is a “Playologist”: an expert in the science of play and engagement! Her unique design capabilities are fed by a deep understanding of human behavior, and how it truly interplays with technology in live, social entertainment experiences.
Denise’s next evolution is the creation of Infinite Kingdoms an invention company merging live attraction settings and retail, toys, and wearables to create engaging multi-generational, multi-platform experiences.
Her next adventure includes engagement experiences that extend her original technology around interactive “magic” as well as the creation of sustainable play attractions that invite the earth to join us in achieving Zero Net!
Una de Boer
Una joined the WhiteWater family in 2015, a move she describes as the most glamorous role of her 20-year international marketing career, to date. It’s easy to imagine why water slides are a much more fun product to market than professional services or energy management SaaS. Una started her career running B2B advertising campaigns and then consulted on direct marketing best practices for large financial services providers. Since 2005, Una’s roles have involved building marketing teams to help companies put customer understanding at the center of their organization and building meaningful brands which connect with employees and customers alike. With an undergraduate degree in literature, as well as an MBA, Una believes that marketing merges storytelling, psychology, data analysis, and common commercial sense to simplify the ‘why?’ for customers. Una leads WhiteWater’s international marketing across a variety of verticals, from water parks to hotels and resorts, ensuring that each market and business area has a voice which leads the industry and engages with people so that the complete product and service offering is well understood.
