IAAPA Announces Give Kids The World Inaugural

5K Run And 1K Fun Walk

 

Alexandria, Va. (USA) - The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA)/Give Kids the World (GKTW) Inaugural 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk will take place at SeaWorld Orlando on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 7:30 a.m. The 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk route includes various SeaWorld exhibits and attractions. Refreshments will be available for runners/walkers. The race will end at approximately 8:30 a.m.

The 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk awards ceremony will take place at the GKTW Booth # (5136) Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Pre-registration fee is $25. Participants can also register on-site at the GKTW booth at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 until Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. for $30. A shuttle bus will depart from the Peabody at 6:45 a.m. on Thursday to transport participants to SeaWorld for the 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk.

“We realized there were a lot of people out there who wanted to help and contribute to Give Kids The World (GKTW) in some way,” said Becky Bray, coordinator of the IAAPA/Give Kids The World 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk. “This event is completely inclusive. Everyone from exhibitors to spouses and families of attendees can participate in this fun event.”

“The 5K Run and 1K Fun Walk really adds another dimension to the relationship we have with IAAPA,” said Pamela Landwirth, president and CEO of GKTW.  “We’re very excited and hope lots of folks will come out and enjoy the fun.”

IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007

The IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 is the largest conference and trade show for the amusement park and attractions industry in the world. With its theme “Expand Your Universe” the show will drawan estimated 25,000 people from more than 85 countries from the amusement and leisure industries to the Orange County Convention Center from Monday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 16. The trade show floor will be open Tuesday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov.16.

IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 offers a solid week of business and fun. More than 1,000 exhibitors will display their products and services in 500,000 net square feet of exhibit space. The event will also include educational sessions, behind-the-scenes tours, marquee social events, and networking opportunities.
