Exclusive Behind-the-Scenes Educational Tours Planned For
IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007
Alexandria, Va. (USA) – The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) announces exclusive behind-the-scene tours, which will take place during IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007. Creepy ghosts and ghouls from Universal Orlando Resort, tons of green slime from Nickelodeon’s Family Suites Hotel, and Dollywood’s “Dixie Stampede” show’s magnificent horses will all be a part of the educational tours. Participants will get a behind-the-scenes view of the inner-workings of the attractions industry, including waterpark operations, live entertainment, merchandise production, and more. The tours will run Nov. 13 – 15 and provide a perfect opportunity for facility operators to network and learn from each other as well as from the facility they are visiting.
Retail and Midway Games Tour: Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Universal Orlando Resort
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
The tour will guide attendees through two successful retail and midway games areas and provide a great peer-to-peer opportunity, where managers and operators can share ideas. Park management from Universal Orlando Resort and Disney’s Animal Kingdom will address their daily challenges and how they run operations smoothly.

Behind-the-Scenes at Dolly Parton’s “Dixie Stampede”
Tuesday, Nov. 13, 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Attendees will be guided through the 128,000 square-foot facility and get pointers on creating a memorable live entertainment experience for small or large audiences, and ideas how to exceed guests’ expectation. As an added bonus, participants will experience the full-length spirited show, which stars 32 magnificent horses, their skilled riders, and exotic animals from ostriches to buffalo.

Hi-Tech Recruiting Tour Universal Orlando
Wednesday, Nov. 14, 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
This detailed glimpse into the Human Resources department at Universal Orlando is perfect for anyone looking to implement an online application process and developing other human resource technology at their attraction. Human Resources staff will showcase the technology they use for recruitment, training, and daily operations.

Merchandisers Factory Tour of Kid-U-Not
Thursday, Nov. 15, 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Kid-U-Not produces imprinted sportswear for the resort and souvenir market and is one of Orlando’s top manufacturers. This rare glimpse of their factory site will walk tour participants through the process of embroidering and screen-printing a garment. It’s literally a hands-on experience, as attendees will walk away with their own screen-printed garment after watching Kid-U-Not staff demonstrate the process!

Waterpark Operators Tour to Nickelodeon Family Suites Hotel
Thursday, Nov. 15, 8:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Trade show attendees can expect to run into popular Nickelodeon characters on this walk-through of the themed hotel, which houses Orlando’s latest waterpark attraction. Nickelodeon’s aquatics director will cover the details involved in combining hotel and waterpark operations and will address pool operations, maintenance, and food and beverage services.

Behind-the-Scenes at Universal Orlando’s “Halloween Horror Night”
Thursday, Nov. 15, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Over its 17 years in production, Universal’s “Halloween Horror Nights” has grown to include eight haunted houses, four shows, and tons of street scare zones and “scareactors.” Members of Universal’s creative and design team will give attendees a “lights-on” tour and tailor topics to haunted house operators, entertainment managers, costume and makeup professionals, and scene and design departments.

IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007
The IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 is the largest conference and trade show for the amusement park and attractions industry in the world. With its theme “Expand Your Universe” the show will drawan estimated 25,000 people from more than 85 countries from the amusement and leisure industries to the Orange County Convention Center from Monday, Nov. 12, through Friday, Nov. 16. The trade show floor will be open Tuesday, Nov.13 through Friday, Nov.16. IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 offers a solid week of business and fun.
