Financial Veteran joins the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions

 

ALEXANDRIA ( Jan 23, 2006) - Financial veteran and CPA, Thomas Fischetti, has been hired as the new Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions announced today.

As VP of Finance, Fischetti will develop and implement financial strategies, identify and assist in developing business opportunities worldwide, and oversee all financial and support services of the association.  Fischetti brings more than 25 years of experience to the position including his most recent position as the Chief Financial Officer for the National Treasury Employees Union in Washington DC, and the Executive Director of the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology where he structured and implemented a cost containment program reversing a $97K deficit to a $500K surplus in one fiscal year.

“Tom has proven skills in non profit accounting, fiscal planning and analysis, and executive management and leadership,” said Charlie Bray, IAAPA president and CEO, “He brings insight and a solid record of excellent fiscal management.”

Prior to joining the National Treasury Employees Union, Fischetti was an independent consultant for a wide variety of non-profit and for-profit entities with revenues between $10k and $14m.  He provided accounting department and system design, software installation and conversion, training, staffing and operational issues.  He also owned and operated Thomas D. Fischetti, CPA for more than ten years, focusing on non profit accounting and consulting.

Fischetti is a graduate of James Madison University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and participated in the Executive MBA program at George Washington University.  He became a certified public accountant in 1983.  He is a member of the Association Society of Association Executives, the Virginia Society of CPA’s and, the American Institute of CPA’s.
