Stone Mountain Golf Club Picked As the Host for the 3rd Annual IAAPA Charity Golf Tournament to Benefit Give Kids the World
ALEXANDRIA, VA (USA) (May. 9, 2005) -
Stone Mountain Golf Club, Stone Mountain, Georgia, will
welcome the amusement industry’s leading professionals for the
Third Annual IAAPA Charity Golf Tournament to benefit Give Kids
The World on November 14, 2005. Held in conjunction with the
IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 Annual Conference and Trade Show, the
golf tournament is organized by the International Association of Amusement
Parks and Attractions ( IAAPA)—the largest trade organization for
the amusement and leisure industry.
The prestigious golf tournament combines the efforts of IAAPA’s key membership
including manufacturers and suppliers that sponsor various tournament activities,
holes and foursomes.
The IAAPA Attractions Expo is the association’s largest worldwide gathering of amusement professionals and is being held November 14-19, 2005, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
“This is one of IAAPA’s most popular events at the IAAPA Attractions Expo. Last year’s tournament sold out, so this year we are offering two courses to handle the additional capacity,” said J. Clark Robinson, IAAPA President and CEO. “All who wish to play should reserve their spot as soon as possible.”
Tickets for the tournament cost $150. The chairs of this year’s golf tournament—industry veterans Bill Alter, Ed Carroll, Jr., and John Graff—hope to surpass the fundraising of 2004’s event which netted close to $30,000.
Stone Mountain Golf Club is situated at the foot of Stone Mountain and winds through a forest of Georgia pines around Stone Mountain Lake. Its two courses—Stonemont, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and Lakemont, designed by John LaFoy—feature impressive elevation changes and brilliant design for any skill level.
