IAAPA Provides Foundation for Industry Partners

 

ALEXANDRIA, VA (USA) (Sep. 16, 2005) - IAAPA welcomes industry association’s to  the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 Annual Conference and Trade Show, to provide their members an opportunity to network, learn and partake in the world’s largest gathering of amusement industry professionals.   The IAAPA Attractions Expo is being held November 14-19, 2005 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

“It is a pleasure to see other association’s be a part of the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 and are doing so by organizing special events or seminars for their members,” said J. Clark Robinson, president and CEO of IAAPA.

Associations that have scheduled activities for their constituents and curiosity-seekers include the International Association of Haunted Attractions (IAHA), Latin American Association of Amusement Parks (ALAP), Outdoor Amusement Business Association (OABA), and Themed Entertainment Association (TEA).  

IAHA will take an in-depth look beyond the frights and scares of haunted attractions, and discuss the management and operations aspects in its seminar, “Haunted Attractions: Management and Operations Issues,” November 17 at 4:30 p.m.  IAHA president, Larry Kirchner, will lead a panel of operators and designers for an expert view of these niche attractions.  This seminar is open to IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 attendees.

ALAP plans a reception for its members to acquaint themselves with one another.  Being held November 17 at 6:15 p.m., the reception is an ideal opportunity for Latin America’s attractions leaders to share experiences and ideas with their colleagues in a comfortable and relaxed gathering.   This reception is open to Latin American members only.  ALAP will also co-host an interactive roundtable with IAAPA, November 18 at 4:30 p.m., for participants of the Spanish Language Track to discuss their thoughts about the industry and the day’s seminar. 

OABA named industry veteran Bill Alter the honored guest of “Lunch with a Legend,” which is being held November 16 at 12 p.m.  Alter, who will retire from National Ticket Company in June 2006, served the amusement industry for more than 45 years.  Tickets for the event are $20 per person, and more information may be obtained by contacting OABA at +1 407/681-9444. 

TEA takes an integral part in IAAPA’s education components as a Keynote presenter.  Focusing on the trends and realities affecting and driving the experience- and location-based entertainment fields, TEA’s session, “Future of Compelling Places and Experience” is November 18 at 8 a.m.  This seminar is open to IAAPA Attractions Expo 2005 attendees.
