IAAPA Asian Expo 2005 Attendees Can Add Fun to Business Trips

 

ALEXANDRIA, VA (USA) (Jun. 30, 2005) - The IAAPA Asian Expo 2005 isn’t all business.  Attendees have the opportunity to enjoy themselves amid exciting exhibitors and special events throughout the four day tradeshow.  Being held July 12-15, 2005 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, The IAAPA Asian Expo 2005 is also surrounded by a myriad of other events Hong Kong is offering in the height of summer.   These events offer IAAPA’s attendees a unique opportunity to get more acquainted with one of Asia’s most exuberant and brightest cities: 

• 2005 Hong Kong Shopping Festival (http://discoverhongkong.com/eng/showtime/mega/st_mega_hksf.jhtml):  Organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong’s popular pastime of shopping reaches new heights with fantastic sales. Enjoy quality service, great values, and indulge all desires at Hong Kong’s retailers.  

• 2005 World Children's Choir Festival (www.hktreblechoir.com/2005_World_Children's_Choir_Festival/e_index.html): 
For the first time in Hong Kong, 30 choirs from more than 10 countries will assemble.  The festival features four evening concerts, eight free afternoon concerts and workshops. Four world-renowned children's choirs will travel from Canada, South Africa, China and Finland to join the festivities.

• Davis Cup (http://www.tennishk.org): Asia’s emerging tennis stars gather at Victoria Park to compete in one of the world’s most successful tournaments.  Players on the roster are from Bahrain, Qatar, Malaysia, Tajikistan and Vietnam.

• Hong Kong Comics Festival 2005/Hong Kong Game Fair 2005 (www.hkcomicsfest.com): Exhibit highlighting the newest in the industry of games, includes on-line games, PC games, mobile games, TV games and arcade games.  Special events also include an online game arena and game girl contest. 

• Hong Kong Dizi and Xiao Festival (www.hkco.org): Organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, this is an opportunity for audiences to learn more about the fascinating Chinese musical instruments—the Dizi and the Xiao. The festival includes a Dizi Marathon, exhibitions, demonstrations and two concerts: Xiao - the Instrument that Tells of Journeys in Life and Chinese Flute Virtuosi In Concert.

• Hong Kong International Band Festival 2005 (www.hkbda.org): This festival includes concerts, a marching band showcase and a parade on the famous "Avenue of Stars"  along the Victoria Harbour.  Participating bands are from regions like mainland China and Taiwan, but bands from all over the world were invited to participate.

• International Arts Carnival 2005 (www.hkiac.gov.hk): Fabulous and entertaining programs like music, dance, puppetry, magic, mime, drama, acrobatics and more come together to create a festival for all ages. 

• The Year of France in China (www.consulfrance-hongkong.org):  A 10-month celebration of the ties between China and France comes to an end in July 2005.  As an unprecedented cultural event in the history of Sino-French relations, events include performing arts, films, science and technology.

As Asia’s largest amusement and attraction-based show, the IAAPA Asian Expo will host more than 140 world-class exhibitors. Products and services displayed will include safety and design consultants, rides, games, play equipment, admissions and ticketing systems, costumes, IMAX films, and water shows. The trade show will utilize more than 2,700 net square meters of exhibit space, and IAAPA officials expect more than 3,000 attendees.
