ALEXANDRIA, VA. USA (Sep. 9, 2003) – The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions ( IAAPA) will hold a European Conference titled Attractions at a Crossroad on October 9-10 at the Newport Bay Club Convention Center of Disneyland® Resort Paris in France to discuss how European attractions, amusements and theme parks can continue to thrive while facing uncertain international economic conditions. Additionally, conference attendees will share ideas on how best to capitalize on changing European travel and tourism patterns and learn more about the general role and perspective of the European amusement & attractions industry.
"Currently a confluence of events is reshaping the international amusement and attractions industry that has economic ramifications for all of us," says J. Clark Robinson, President of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions.
"A combination of factors like terrorism, consumer wariness, and a weakly performing economy is presenting a unique set of challenges and it’s time to pool our intellectual capital to meet these challenges."
