IAAPA Rebrands AAE to IAE

ALEXANDRIA, VA. USA (Aug. 19, 2003) – The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions announced today a name change in their Asian Amusement Expo to the IAAPA Asian Expo (IAE). The IAE will be held July 14-16, 2004 at the Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Center.

"As the largest international trade association for permanently-situated amusement facilities, IAAPA has achieved a solid reputation for quality, leading edge products and services," stated Clark Robinson, the association's president. "By branding the show with IAAPA's name, IAE will immediately benefit from this global recognition our association has built for the past 85 years."

"The Asian Amusement industry holds so much promise for the future, this show is a key component to serving our industry, now and in the future. IAAPA is committed to delivering the highest quality show possible. A combination of expanded educational offerings, a targeted focus and a reasonable cost to exhibitors and attendees will demonstrate our commitment."

In 2003, due to uncertain health conditions resulting from Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) IAAPA made the difficult decision to cancel the show.

The 2002 show featured more than 6,000 square meters of exhibit and conference space including 140 local and international exhibitors. More than 3,000 visitors attended the show from 40 countries. Asia is a key player in the global amusement industry, as four of the world's top ten most visited parks are located in that region.
