Ireland - August 2016

Rust, Germany

The Emerald Isle is the inspiration for Europa-Park’s newest European-themed land, opening this summer. Guests will have great “craic” (fun) in an Irish fishing village. They can board the “Dancing Dingie” children’s swingboat, ride the “Ba-a-a-Express” junior roller coaster, hop on “Old MacDonald’s Tractor Fun” ride, enjoy the crazy ship “Sheep Rock,” and take a spin with dragons on the carousel. There’s also a large, covered play area called “Limerick Castle,” a new Shamrock Gifts and Treats shop, and The O’Mackay’s Café and Pub.

“Ireland can be seen as a park in itself. You can find everything here: rides, entertainment, playgrounds, food outlets, and shops. All of this can be experienced together by the whole family,” says Michael Mack, managing partner of Europa-Park.

Investment for the project was in the “double-digit million euro” range. Mack Solutions themed the 10,000-square-meter area, and Mack Media was responsible for digital content. Mack Rides and Art Engineering cooperated on the roller coaster. Other rides came from Mack Rides, Zierer, and Metallbau Emmeln.
