Updated Conference and Networking Event Schedule Now Available

(Jan. 17, 2013) – IAAPA has announced new details about its post-event tour taking place March 9 and 10 in Balneário Camboriú, the tourism capital of Santa Catarina, Brazil, following the IAAPA 2013 Leadership Conference and Latin America Networking Event.

The post-event tour will feature visits to Unipraias and Beto Carrero World, as well as networking dinners and a two-night stay at Infinity Blue Resort and Spa.

“The post-event tour gives attendees an opportunity to extend their learning experience and go behind the scenes at two of Brazil’s most prominent and unique attractions,” said Paulina Reyes, vice president of IAAPA’s Latin American operations.

On Saturday, March 9, post-event tour attendees will travel by boat to Laranjeiras Beach and enjoy lunch by the shore. Then, they will travel by cable car to Unipraias and tour the park that combines thrills and adventure with natural beauty.  Stops on the tour will include Unipraias’ new zipline attraction and “Youhooo!”, a mountain sled that reaches up to 60 km/h as it weaves through the rainforest.

Sunday, March 10, the tour of Beto Carrero World will give visitors an inside look at the operations of the largest amusement park in Latin America. Beto Carrero World spans more than 14 million square meters and contains more than 1,000 attractions in seven separately themed sections of the park and a zoo. Lunch will be served at the park.

Monday, March 11, post-event tour participants will have the morning to themselves to explore Balneário Camboriú, which offers beautiful beaches, ample shopping, and terrific restaurants. The bus will depart Infinity Blue Resort and Spa around noon for the return flight, arriving in São Paulo at 4:15 p.m.

The cost to attend the post-event tour is US$699. IAAPA members save US$100 and pay only US$599. The fee includes two nights at Infinity Blue Resort and Spa (www.infinityblue.com.br), roundtrip airfare to Balneario CamboriuSC from São Paulo, lunch and dinner Saturday and Sunday, and visits to Unipraias Park (www.unipraias.com.br) and Beto Carrero World (www.betocarrero.com.br).

Additionally, IAAPA has released an updated schedule for the 2013 Leadership Conference and Latin America Networking Event, March 6 – 8 in São Paulo.

The event will include visits to five noted Brazilian attractions, including Wet ’n’ Wild, a water park containing 23 attractions and 7 million liters of water; Hopi Hari, one of the largest and most modern theme parks in Latin America; O Mundo da Xuxa, a small theme park featuring 20 attractions, including a roller coaster and indoor flume ride; Museu do Futebol, a soccer museum that ranks among the top five most-visited museums in Brazil; and the São Paulo Zoo, which houses more than 3,200 species over a 824,529-square-meter area.

Note: Due to a scheduling change, the IAAPA 2013 Leadership Conference and Latin America Networking Event will not include tours to KidZania or the Catavento Museum, as previously announced.

During the conference and networking event, IAAPA will also announce the results of the Brazilian Economic Impact Study, which quantifies the effect of the attractions industry on the Brazilian economy.

“The location of the Leadership Conference and Latin America Networking Event, as well as the post-event tour, was purposeful,” said IAAPA President and CEO Paul Noland. “Brazil is one of the largest and fastest-growing attractions markets in the world, and that fact makes this a can’t-miss opportunity for industry professionals.”
