Discovery Point - August 2016

SeaWorld San Antonio

San Antonio, Texas

Discovery Point surfaced at SeaWorld San Antonio on May 21. The attraction’s 600,000-gallon Dolphin Lagoon is twice the size of its previous dolphin habitat. Guests can watch Atlantic bottlenose dolphins swim from above and below the water at the park’s first underwater viewing area. Discovery Point also serves as the central hub for the park’s beluga, dolphin, and sea-lion swims.

The tropical oasis-themed attraction represents the largest single capital investment in the park’s 28-year history. The development is modeled after the company’s Discovery Cove park in Orlando.

By connecting animals and guests in new ways, “Discovery Point underscores our mission of experiences that matter,” says Chris Bellows, SeaWorld San Antonio’s vice president of zoological operations.

A renovated Explorer’s Reef aquarium also returns for 2016.
