2016 IAAPA Leadership Conference to Focus on How Attractions Evolve, Lead, and Excel in Today’s Ever-Changing World of Entertainment

Event Takes Place March 9-11 in Mexico City, Mexico in Conjunction with IAAPA’s Latin American Summit

(Alexandria, Virginia, US) – Top-level attractions industry leaders from around the world will gather to learn how attractions in Mexico City, Mexico, have implemented strategic plans to evolve, lead, and excel in today’s ever-changing world of entertainment. The conference, which will take place March 9-11, 2016, marks the sixth consecutive year the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has presented the leadership event and the first time it will take place in Mexico.

Conference attendees will hear from keynote speaker Enrique Ramirez Magana, owner of Cinépolis, the largest cineplex chain in Latin America and the fourth largest in the world. Magana has more than 20 years of industry experience and helped to revolutionize the movie-going experience. He was instrumental in the introduction of a VIP experience with seat selection, stadium seating, wide variety of food and beverage options, and lounge seating with call buttons for service. In 2011 the company began investing in the creation of 4-D theaters with motion seats, wind effects, water and air effects, and scents to enhance the guest’s movie-going experience. He introduced new concepts such as Cinepolis VIP, Cinepolis Luxury Theaters, Cinepolis Plus, and Cinepolis Mix Screens that utilize one screen for both traditional stadium-style theaters and VIP theaters.

Participants will take part in education sessions, network with industry colleagues, and take guided tours of some of the area’s most popular attractions, including Acuario Inbursa, Recórcholis, Papalote Children’s Museum, Six Flags Mexico, KidZania, Ancient City of Teotihuacan, and Reino Animal Safari.

“As families have an increasing number of options as to how to spend their leisure time, the attractions industry must always look to the future and lead through innovation,” said IAAPA President and CEO, Paul Noland. “The presentations and attraction visits will provide fresh perspectives and new ideas to inspire attendees to develop memorable guest experiences and grow their businesses.”
