IAAPA Foundation Establishes a Memorial Fund in Memory of
Alexander (Al) Weber Jr., Ph.D

(November 16, 2016—Orlando, FL) – With the support of Bonnie Weber, the wife of the late attraction’s industry leader Alexander (Al) Weber, Jr., Ph.D, founder, president, and CEO of Apex Parks Group, the IAAPA Foundation has established a memorial fund to support education for future attractions leaders.

Throughout his long and successful career, Weber served as president and CEO of Paramount Parks and of Palace Entertainment. He also served as the interim CEO and COO of Six Flags Entertainment before moving on to found Apex Parks Group in 2014. Weber was elected by the IAAPA Board of Directors to serve as the 2017 second vice chair, and would have served as IAAPA’s Board Chairman in 2019.

“During his career Al touched so many lives within the attractions industry. His passion for the industry and for education was always evident,” said Jane Cooper, chairman of the IAAPA Foundation. “By supporting educational initiatives for the attractions leaders of tomorrow, the Al Weber Jr., Ph.D Memorial Fund will provide a meaningful legacy to honor Al’s lifetime of leadership and insight to our industry.”

Donations should be made payable to the IAAPA Foundation to benefit the Al Weber Jr., Ph.D Memorial Fund, 1448 Duke St., Alexandria, VA 22314, USA.  Additional information is available at www.IAAPA.org/foundation.

The IAAPA Foundation is headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and is supported by members of IAAPA, a global organization with members in more than 100 countries served by four regional offices in Brussels, Mexico City, Hong Kong, and Orlando, Florida.
