IAAPA Foundation Announces Support of Attractions Management Track at University of Central Florida’s Rosen College of Hospitality Management

IAAPA Foundation Announces Support of Attractions
Management Track at University of Central Florida’s
Rosen College of Hospitality Management

(Orlando, Florida) – The IAAPA Foundation, supported by members of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA), announces its support of the University of Central Florida (UCF) Rosen College of Hospitality Management’s Attractions Management Track with the funding of three scholarships.

“Supporting the pioneering programs Rosen College offers students interested in a career in attractions management goes to the heart of our Foundation’s mission to inspire life-changing careers in the global attractions industry by cultivating tomorrow’s leaders," said IAAPA Foundation Chair Jane Cooper. “Our collaboration with Rosen College will include scholarships for attractions management students and will help ensure relevant curricula by connecting industry executives to Rosen’s classrooms and providing professors and students from Rosen College with direct exposure to operating attractions.”

Today during IAAPA Attractions Expo, the attractions industry’s largest global event, the UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management announced the winners of three $7,000 scholarships funded by the IAAPA Foundation for students in the college’s Attractions Management Track. The three scholarship recipients are Bridget Frost, Matthew Temmer, and Ashley Kaczor.

“We are delighted to support these attractions management students all of whom have demonstrated their commitment to learning by maintaining excellent grade point averages at Rosen College,” Cooper said.

Dr. Abraham Pizam, Dean, Rosen College of Hospitality Management, welcomed the support and collaboration with the IAAPA Foundation. “The Rosen College’s partnership with the IAAPA Foundation and members of IAAPA will provide our students with unprecedented access to educational opportunities and facilities, as they pursue their careers in attractions management. We are grateful for the financial support the scholarships will provide for our students, and for the alliance with the IAAPA Foundation which will expand the means for our faculty and students to connect directly with a host of attractions through our collaborative Executive in Residence and Professor in Residence Programs,” said Pizam

The IAAPA Foundation, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, is supported by members of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, a global organization with members in more than 100 countries served by four regional offices in Brussels, Mexico City, Hong Kong, and Orlando, Florida. IAAPA recently announced the relocation of its global headquarters to Orlando beginning spring of 2017. Rosen College of Hospitality Management, currently ranked fifth in the world among 1,000 hospitality management colleges, is located in the heart of Orlando’s hospitality and tourism corridor. Over 3,600 students attend the College and are taught by faculty from more than 17 different countries The Rosen College is a 159,000- square-foot, state-of-the-art, Mediterranean resort-style campus, featuring 18 high-tech classrooms, a 200-seat training dining room, a beer and wine laboratory, two test kitchens and a 400-seat auditorium.
