IAAPA Foundation and JA Worldwide Announce Partnership

(November 14, 2016—Orlando, Florida) – The IAAPA Foundation, supported by members of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, has announced a major effort to connect attractions operators and industry suppliers to JA Worldwide offices throughout the world.

The IAAPA Foundation and JA Worldwide believe the amusement park and attractions industry can provide a compelling opportunity for youth to experience and understand many aspects of global business. According to Jane Cooper, chairman of the IAAPA Foundation, “the IAAPA Foundation mission is to inspire life-changing careers in the global attractions industry by cultivating tomorrow’s leaders. Attractions industry executives can meaningfully impact youth throughout the world by supporting the local and regional efforts of their JA Worldwide offices.”

Asheesh Advani, president and CEO of JA Worldwide, is looking forward to the collaboration with the IAAPA Foundation. “Linking the global attractions industry to our efforts offers a unique opportunity for JA Worldwide,” he said. “The excitement and appeal of attractions and the turnkey work-readiness and entrepreneurship curriculum of JA, create a powerful vehicle to inspire and prepare young people to become engaged in business and in the future of jobs.”

To kick off the alliance, the IAAPA Foundation and JA Worldwide will collaborate on a Job Shadowing program during November’s IAAPA Attractions Expo 2016 in Orlando. As part of the program, 30 JA of Central Florida students will study the attractions industry, meet with attractions executives, and have an opportunity to explore the world’s largest attractions industry conference and trade show.

The IAAPA Foundation, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, is supported by members of IAAPA, a global organization with members in more than 100 countries served by four regional offices in Brussels, Mexico City, Hong Kong, and Orlando, Florida. JA Worldwide serves more than 10 million students with a mission “to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.” In addition to the JA Worldwide office in Boston, Massachusetts, there are six regional operating centers: JA Africa, JA Americas, JA Asia Pacific, JA Europe, INJAZ Al-Arab in the Middle East and North Africa, and Junior Achievement USA. JA Worldwide and its regional operating centers support JA offices in over 100 countries.
