S&S Worldwide Opens New Facility

S&S Worldwide Inc. opened a new manufacturing and administrative facility in Logan, Utah. The design of the new 110,000-square-foot structure centers around safety, efficiency, and employee comfort. The building has multiple collaborative areas for enhanced meeting experiences and 82,000 square feet of production space. The company said the new building will create high production flows to ensure faster and more resourceful completion of its products. In addition, the building’s layout will allow S&S Worldwide to function more efficiently when serving worldwide customers.


Polin Sets New Group Structure

The Polin brand recently completed the process that finalized the establishment of Polin Holding under the brand name Polin Group. All of the companies and brands within the Polin Group are housed under one of four main umbrellas: Amusement Attractions, Composites Manufacturing, Funtastic Parks, and Park Development. The development of the holding company created the following organizational changes: Dr. Kubilay Alpdogan has been appointed to general manager of Polin Waterparks; Bilge Pakis has been named sales and design director; Polin Group Business Development Director Eyup Ispiroglu will be responsible for creating new products and services for the group companies; Marketing and Corporate Communications Director Sohret Pakis will oversee marketing and communication activities of the Polin Group; Strategy and Human Resources Director Muge Tolunay Gundogdu will handle all processes related to human resources; and Financial Affairs Director Erdal Bulut will manage all finances.


AV Stumpfl Establishes Subsidiary

Austrian audiovisual technology manufacturer AV Stumpfl GmbH officially announced the establishment of AV Stumpfl Inc., which will be based in Atlanta and will be supported by a nationwide network of distributors, dealers, and technology specialists. This is the first instance of the family-owned AV Stumpfl GmbH establishing an official subsidiary in the United States with direct ties to the Austrian parent company. Industry veteran Todd Liedahl was appointed managing director of the new U.S. subsidiary.


Simtec Systems Expands Its Production Facilities

Simtec Systems is expanding its production facilities at its headquarters in Braunschweig, Germany, and is extending its infrastructure to provide services in China. The company completed construction of an annex in Braunschweig that doubles the available office space, allowing the number of employees to increase from 60 to 100. The company’s new production hall, called Simtec Manufactory, will be finished later this year and features 5,500 square meters of assembly and test space. Simtec also opened a new service location in Wuhan, China, to serve its growing number of customers and systems in operation in the country. This is the company’s second location in China with the other being in Shanghai.

Urban Air Hires Ken May as Executive Chairman

URBAN AIRUrban Air Adventure Park announced that it hired Ken May to lead its U.S. operations and strategic growth for the brand of active family entertainment centers. Just prior to joining Urban Air, during May’s four-year tenure with Topgolf, he helped lead the company through 24 venue openings and a quadrupling of its workforce. His three-decade career includes roles as CEO of FedEx Kinko’s, president of Krispy Kreme, and chairman of the March of Dimes National Board of Trustees. He will work in the company’s 

Dallas, Texas, headquarters.



Michael Daut

Michael Daut joined Mousetrappe as the company’s director of new business development to further expand its growing portfolio of national and international projects. Daut brings a wealth of experience, having served most recently at Evans & Sutherland, where he acquired numerous large accounts and expanded the product line. At Mousetrappe, he will cultivate and establish new partnerships while maintaining existing relationships. Daut will continue the company’s recent successes in its approach to media-centric attraction development, mapped projection events, and world-renowned experiences.


Melissa Timco

Baynum Painting Inc. welcomed Melissa Timco as director of the company’s Amusement Park Industry Division. She is responsible for the oversight of all services provided to parks and other attractions industry clients of Baynum. Timco has more than 10 years of professional experience at Premier Rides Inc. and Ralph S. Alberts Company, and has been actively involved in several trade associations.


Tony Sanders 

Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk brought Tony Sanders on board to serve as its new games, arcades, and attractions manager. He will oversee more than 300 video and redemption games, 35 midway games, an 18-hole mini-golf course, laser tag arena, and several popular boardwalk attractions. He brings extensive attractions industry experience to his new role, most recently serving as operations manager at Merlin Entertainments in Kansas City, Missouri.
