Amanda Thompson OBE, ICAE, continued a family tradition by following in the footsteps of her father, grandfather, grandmother, and great-grandfather, to continue building on the success of Blackpool Pleasure Beach in Blackpool, England. In 2004, she became managing director of the park founded by her great-grandfather, William George Bean. Thompson is also president of Stageworks Worldwide Productions—the entertainment division of Blackpool Pleasure Beach—which she formed in 1982 to present live shows around the world. She received the prestigious Director of the Year Award from the Michael Elliott Trust and sits on the board of the Grand Theatre Blackpool. With a strong passion for the industry, Thompson seeks to offer experiences that exceed guest expectations and create cherished memories. She was awarded the Order of the British Empire for Services to Tourism by Queen Elizabeth II.

Chip Cleary, ICAE, is a 40-year attractions industry veteran based in Long Island, New York, who has played an integral role at a variety of attractions and companies, including Adventureland Amusement Park, Splish Splash water park, Palace Entertainment, and Parques Reunidos. He has been an active volunteer with IAAPA for more than 20 years, serving on numerous advisory committees and chairing the membership, strategic planning, compensation, and executive committees. He served two terms on the IAAPA Board of Directors and was elected third vice chair in 2007. He served as second and first vice chair in 2008 and 2009, respectively, and he was chairman of the board in 2010. Cleary also led IAAPA as president and CEO from 2011 to 2013. Since 2013, he has been senior consultant to Europa-Park in Rust, Germany, where he is heavily involved in its new Water Adventure Resort Rulantica.

Adrea Gibbs, ICAE, has been involved in the entertainment and attractions industry for more than 30 years, having worked with organizations worldwide including Ramoji Film City, Attractiepark Slagharen, Disneyland, Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris, Santa’s Village, Windows On China Theme Park, eXplore 5D, and DyMoRides. Currently, she is the managing director for Planet Aqua Group.

Since 1996, VGP Ravidas has held the position of managing director of VGP Group of Companies, a business conglomerate in India with wide-ranging interests. Ravidas carved a niche for VGP Group in property development, amusement parks, and resort management, and played a major role in upgrading VGP Group’s theme park division, which includes VGP Universal Kingdom amusement park in Chennai, India. Ravidas has been a member of IAAPA since 1998 and a member of the IAAPA Asia-Pacific Advisory Committee since 2014. In addition, Ravidas has been associated with Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) for the past two decades and served as president of IAAPI in 2008.

Beginning her career in 1985 as a food service employee at Six Flags Magic Mountain in Los Angeles, California, Bonnie Sherman Weber, ICAE, has been with Six Flags for more than 30 years across a variety of roles, departments, and park levels. She briefly held positions with The Walt Disney Company and as director of worldwide marketing for consumer products for Warner Bros. After serving in her Warner Bros. role for four years, Weber returned to Six Flags as park president of Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor in 2010. She serves on numerous community and industry boards, including the California Attractions and Parks Association (CAPA). She chairs the IAAPA Branding Task Force and is a member of the IAAPA Strategic Planning Committee.

Philip Wilson, ICAE, is executive vice president at Extreme Engineering and has more than 22 years of marketing and design experience in the attractions industry. He is currently chair of the IAAPA Service Awards Committee and serves on several other association committees, including global membership and global manufacturers and suppliers. Previously, Wilson was a Chairman’s League member with the American Resort Development Association (ARDA) and helped manage a task force with ARDA on introducing resorts to amusement suppliers. Wilson has extensive knowledge in intellectual property (IP) protection, trademark implementation, and brand development. His design work helped Extreme Engineering win 10 “Best New Product” and “Best Design” IAAPA Brass Ring Awards and several outside industry awards. Wilson also lobbies on industry-related issues at Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C.
