What to Expect at IAAPA Attractions Expo 2018

Connecting more than 35,000 global attractions industry professionals with more than 1,000 exhibitors and countless industry experts, IAAPA Attractions Expo 2018 is the place to explore new products and services, grow networks, gain knowledge, and recognize excellence in the industry. Here are some can’t-miss highlights at the Expo, taking place from Nov. 12 to 16 at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center:

Fun-Filled Exploration

Spanning 10-plus miles of aisles, the trade show floor presents the latest products and services from more than 125 different categories, including games, retail, and rides. Special feature areas include coin-op, first-time exhibitors, food and beverage, inflatables, and theming and high-tech. New for this year is the specially created “Exploration Station,” an outdoor, climate-controlled structure featuring exhibit space for more than 100 exhibiting companies. It will also feature local Central Florida fare with a selection of food trucks from area vendors.

Set the Stage

The annual Kickoff Event delivers an exciting morning experience packed with news, entertainment, and a look at the industry’s new trends. The event on Nov. 13 at 8:30 a.m. will also feature a special 100th anniversary induction ceremony for the IAAPA Hall of Fame.

Gain Valuable Insights

Learn from Mohamed Al Zaabi, developer of Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and CEO of Miral, at this year’s “Lunch and Learn” event,* Nov. 12 at noon, as he shares the inspiration behind Yas Island’s development, its growth, and plans to reach the goal of 48 million visitors by 2022. 

An ‘IAAPA Celebrates’ to Remember

Join the party at “IAAPA Celebrates: ­IAAPA’s Centennial Celebration at Universal Studios Florida”* for a private evening event full of entertainment, characters, and attractions, Nov. 15 at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy entertainment by Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies and a variety of Universal Studios Florida’s attractions, including “Fast & Furious – Supercharged,” “Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Transformers: The Ride-3D,” and “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.”

Go Behind the Scenes

Discover some of Central Florida’s most popular, world-class attractions from new perspectives with EDUTours* to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, Fun Spot America, SeaWorld Orlando, Topgolf, Universal Orlando Resort, and Walt Disney World Resort. Support Give Kids The World

Participate in special events to help raise funds for Give Kids The World (GKTW), an 84-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida, where children with critical illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free vacations. On Nov. 11 at 8 a.m., the 16th Annual IAAPA International Charity Golf Tournament* will be held at a new location, Falcon’s Fire Golf Course in Kissimmee, Florida. The 9th Annual IAAPA Motorcycle Ride* on Nov. 11 at 8 a.m. will travel through the Village, and at the IAAPA Footprints from the Heart 5K Run/1 Mile Walk* on Nov. 15 at 6:30 a.m., participants can jog or stroll by the Village’s whimsical landmarks.
