 New Avenues
IAAPA has wonderful traditions through its services, products, and events—all of which bring together the industry's innovators, facility operators, and everyone from the front line to the boardroom. And if you're familiar with me and my family's businesses—Europa-Park and Mack Rides—you also know that I'm a strong believer in tradition and in working hard to serve guests every single day.
It's an honor for me as the first German to hold the position of chairman of the board for IAAPA for these reasons. I'm looking forward to building on the history of the association and upholding its mission and vision by guiding the board and the IAAPA staff through important initiatives that will help shape IAAPA's future.
In particular, I'm excited to help the association refine and grow its regional offices and, ultimately, its presence as a global association. It's important our regional offices continue to foster a sense of community in their parts of the world while still continuing to learn how we can all work together to strengthen the industry globally.
Throughout the year, you'll also learn that I believe in never resting on success, but respecting the past as we build our future. We should always bring new ideas to the table and strive to improve how and what we're doing each and every day.
I am looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible during my year as chairman, and I welcome your feedback and questions along the way. I can't wait to get started!
