Homecoming
By now you have most likely heard the exciting news that IAAPA Attractions Expo’s home for the next 10 years will be in Orlando, Florida. The facilities there are the best for our event, and, after all, the city is known by many as the “Unofficial Theme Park Capital of the World.” So all of us at IAAPA are really excited about the future in Orlando, and you should be to, as there is a lot to look forward to.
In particular this year, Expo attendees will have the opportunity to see Tom Williams, CEO of Universal Parks and Resorts, and Joel Manby, CEO of Herschend Family Entertainment, headline marquee events during the Expo.
Also new this year is an exclusive event at the brand-new Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando. What better place to mix and mingle than one of the most talked-about attractions in the world?
IAAPA will be honoring the best in the business through a revamped Brass Ring Awards ceremony, which will combine marketing, live entertainment, retail, human resources, and family entertainment center winners into one exciting event.
From an education standpoint, family entertainment centers get the royal treatment with this year’s Rookies and Newcomers program—a comprehensive primer about the FEC business. Plus, new managers can expect another powerhouse lineup of experts and operators during the Institute for Attractions Managers, and operations professionals can look forward to fresh takes on the ever-important areas of food and beverage, retail, human resources, and attraction safety.
There’s more! For the first time this year, free wireless Internet for all attendees and exhibitors is available throughout the Orange County Convention Center. Plus, new hotels within close proximity to the center are now open!
Turn the pages of this issue, and find even more ways to learn and grow at this year’s IAAPA Attractions Expo.
Have a sparkling day,

Chip Cleary, Chairman of the Board
