LASTING LEGACY: Roy Edward Disney, the nephew of Walt Disney, died in December 2009 at the age of 79 from stomach cancer. As chairman of Disney animation, Disney led the studio to success with films including “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Aladdin,” and “The Lion King.” Prior to those endeavors, Disney had worked on nature films, including the Academy Award-winning “The Living Desert” and “The Vanishing Prairie.”
