IAAPA Visits Members in South America
In January, IAAPA President and CEO Charlie Bray, IAAPA Chairman of the Board Chip Cleary, and Kathy Cleary visited members in Brazil and Chile. Below are a few photos from the trip. For more on these park visits, read Cleary’s Letter from the Chairman.

Participate in Safety Week 2010
The attractions industry in the United States is very safe. To showcase the industry’s safety record and to educate customers about how they can safely enjoy our attractions, IAAPA has established an industrywide “Attractions Safety Awareness Week,” May 29-June 6, 2010. The week will take a multifaceted educational approach to informing legislators and the public about amusement park safety practices. IAAPA members can download a Safety Week “tool-kit” at www.iaapa.org/safety as a guide, but ultimately individual members will determine the extent to which their facilities are involved. If you need help planning your event, contact us at safety@IAAPA.org. |
More for Your Membership
Partnership Plus is IAAPA’s exciting new initiative dedicated to providing members with even more products and services beyond traditional member benefits. Here are some of the highlights:
Webinars: Members can participate in these sessions for FREE and can review the slides and audio for most sessions by logging in to the members-only section of the IAAPA web site.
FUNWORLD Collections and Tip Sheets: Members can now easily reference previous FUNWORLD articles with this series focused on a specific attractions market or discipline. In addition, the communications department has also developed “Tip Sheets” on issues affecting the industry.
Handout Archives: Members can access handouts from previous education sessions in the members-only section of the IAAPA web site. |
A Good Cause
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum in Pattaya, Thailand, recently donated 54,000 thai baht (approximately US$1,600) to Give Kids The World Village. The facility raised the money through donations and novelty photo sales during its Ripley’s Incredible Ambassadors 2010 event.
