Industry Loses Matriarch
Barbara Ellen Knoebel passed away Friday, Nov. 27, 2009 at the age of 66.
Barbara graduated in 1961 from Lykens High School in Lykens, Pennsylvania, and became a licensed practical nurse at Polyclinic Hospital.
Barbara worked alongside her husband of 41 years, Dick Knoebel, at Knoebels Amusement Park and Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. She played a critical role at the facility as the park office manager and head of group sales. She was also active in the Pennsylvania Amusement Parks Association and IAAPA.
Amusement Today recognized Barbara and Dick as 2009 Persons of the Year during the annual Golden Ticket award event.

Young Professionals and Students
Did you know that last year IAAPA added a new membership category for young professionals and students? The membership fee of $49/€39 provides members with access to the many benefits IAAPA offers including FUNWORLD magazine, News Flash, webinars, and discounts.
To qualify for this type of membership, certain eligibility requirements must be met.
Young Professionals: Individuals 35 years of age or younger and employed by an IAAPA member in good standing are eligible for the young professional membership.
