Contracts Manager – Leisure & Entertainment

Description

Excellent opportunity for an outstanding contracts manager with procurement experience and a proven contribution to the successful delivery of major construction projects.

We are a specialist leisure consulting firm with our head office in Dubai, UAE, and provide consulting, project management and operational start up services across a portfolio of new build leisure developments and visitor attractions in the Middle East.

Place of Employment: Dubai, United Arab Emirates with possible travel to other (Middle East) countries for contract negotiation purposes.

Job Purpose: To act as the Contracts Manager on the development of multiple, concurrent visitor attraction developments from US$ 5 - 100 million in value from concept to operation. To provide procurement, contract and administrative support to a team of senior project managers and project managers with the creation of successful leisure businesses for leading developers.

Responsibilities:
• Managing the procurement, selection, negotiation and appointment process for service providers, contractors and suppliers within the project budget, including drafting and issuing RFPs, managing the tender processes, preparing bid placement recommendations, preparing Letters of Intent, finalising contract documents, drafting project funding requests and expenditure approval notes.
• Provide contract and administrative support to the project management team throughout the design and construction processes of leisure developments to ensure on time delivery of each project within agreed cost and quality while ensuring compliance with the Client’s policies and procedures and a thorough audit trail.
• Support the Managing Director with contract negotiation and finalisation with JV Partners, franchisors, franchisees and other Client business partners.
• Work with the Client’s legal team and financial advisors to ensure their sign-off on all major appointments and contract documentation.
• Managing and monitoring contractor and supplier relationships. Assisting with the administration of contracts.
• Oversee keeping of appropriate records and files for each project.
• Reporting on progress, time and cost for all procurement and contract activities, both internally and to the Client.
• Management of the above processes on up to 4 - 6 projects at one time, each at different stages of the project life cycle.

Post Holder Requirements:
• Degree holder or other recognisable professional qualification such as a chartered accountant or Quantity Surveyor.
• 5 – 10 years relevant experience in a similar role at a senior level preferably with GCC experience.
• A demonstrable track record of contributing to the successful delivery of projects.
• A thorough understanding of contracts, procurement and project management processes.
• Commercial acumen and good negotiating skills.
• A high level of confidence, self reliance and self motivation but able to take direction.
• Thorough with attention for detail.
• Excellent people and communication skills.
• Fluent in English, a second language an advantage.
