Course Location, Date and Times
The 2016 IAAPA Institute for Attractions Managers course is taking place in room S331AB at the Orange County Convention Center. The convention center is conveniently located in the heart of the city’s tourism district. The OCCC is a short walk and cab ride to I-Drive where you can find restaurants, shopping, and a variety of attractions. The OCCC is also approximately a 20-minute cab ride to Universal Studios Resort Orlando and Walt Disney World, respectively.

The program will begin on Sunday, November 13 at 8:30 AM and is scheduled to conclude on Tuesday, November 16 at 3:00 PM.
Upon arrival to the OCCC, please pick up your badges from the Registration Area, located in the S220 Concourse.
You may pick up your badge and course materials there any time after 8:00. The daily course schedule is as follows:
Sunday Nov 13
8:30 AM – 5:00 PM: Institute course presentations, class work and lunch
5:30 PM – 9:00 PM: Tour of the I Drive 360 and dinner at the Yard House)
Monday Nov 14
8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Class work
12:00 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch and Learn: Disney Springs from Concept to Completion
Tuesday Nov 15
8:15 – 10:00 am VIP seating at IAAPA Kickoff Event *
10:30 am – 1:30 pm Case-study and working lunch
1:30 -3:30 pm Presentation of Case Studies, Certificates, & Group Photo. Program Concludes
*Note: The Kick-off event is taking place in the IAAPA Theater in room N320. That is in the north side of the convention center. The class will meet outside the IAAPA Theater on Tuesday morning and will then be escorted to their seats. Look for IAAPA staff and faculty holding IAAPA signs.
Your course fee includes lunch each day, morning and afternoon coffee breaks, and dinner on Sunday evening at the Yard House. Please note that the program ends at Yard House on Sunday and return transportation from Yard House will not be provided but it is a short cab or I-Drive Trolley ride from the Convention Center and local hotels.
The dress code during the course is business casual. Part of the program includes a walking tour of the I Drive 360 venue. The weather in Orlando is normally good but it can be chilly in the evenings so bring a sweater.
Tell us about your facility! We encourage you to bring and share promotional material from your facility (parks maps, event schedules, videos, etc.) If several participants of your attraction participate, only one needs to bring the promotional material.
Registrants can earn 16 credit hours towards IAAPA Certification
by participating in this event.
