We take a look at the guest experience from the eye of the designers and the safety experts to prove that artistic and experiential designs do not have to be compromised by good safety engineering… and the ways to make this a success.

Matt Barton
Moderator - Matt Barton, Managing Director / CEO, 7thSense Design

Matt is the CEO of 7thSense Design, a company that specialises in pixel management for display systems on many of the world’s best Theme Parks, Planetaria, 3D Entertainment Theatres and Visitor Attractions.

Starting out in working life as a circus performer, Matt had a varied career before spending 12 years, honing his skills working on display systems in the flight simulation industry in project and product management roles. Matt has a MBA from the Open University, UK

Matt also serves as the President of the TEA EME Division.

Chris Lange
Chris Lange, Creative Director, Mack Solutions

Chris Lange started his career in the Entertainment Business 19 years ago as a Line Producer on commercials and music videos. He then moved into the world of Themed Entertainment when he became Creative Producer at a scenic workshop.

Chris next went to work for the Merlin Entertainments Group as Creative Director for various brands. Finally, in 2007, Chris took his talents and years of experience and founded his own company, Creative Design & Services.

In 2010 Chris embarked on international career when he worked on the Adlab´s Imagica theme park located outside Mumbai or later for Genting Group in Singapore where he worked on the 20th Century Fox Movie World in Genting Highlands, Malaysia. While there, Chris also designed Resort Worlds Jeju Myths & Legend Theme Park in South Korea.

Chris then returned to Europe and joined Europa-Park in 2015 as Creative Director and head of Mack Solutions, the in-house Creative & Design Department. Chris is creatively responsible for all new attractions in the park as well as refurbishing projects and future expansion. Chris is also heading up the resort development team on a project that will include a water park, RD&E zone and more hotels.

Chris is proud of creating many unique and exciting visitor experiences for audiences of all ages around the world.

Suzy Griffiths
Suzy Griffiths, Senior Director Arts and Entertainment, IMG Events

Suzy Griffiths is a Senior Director in the Arts & Entertainment division of IMG Events, and is specifically responsible for the design and production of Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. After a short time working in the photography and PR industries, Suzy’s first taste of the events world was with the Royal Horticultural Society where she organised the Chelsea and Hampton Court Palace Flower Shows. Since joining the Winter Wonderland team in 2008 she has become instrumental the event’s phenomenal success, transforming it from a small Christmas market to Europe’s largest and most popular annual festive celebration.

Bowie Faas
Bowie Faas, Project Manager, P&P Projects

Bowie Faas is a Project Manager at P&P Projects, based in the Netherlands. With 30 years of experience P&P Projects has become a specialized company in delivering turn-key projects for the entire Leisure industry. Their work ranges from storytelling to design and from production to worldwide installation, with clients varying from well-known Theme Parks, Waterparks, FEC’s, Museums and Zoos.

Bowie can be described as a creative and passionate young professional with a touch of proper craziness. Bowie’s responsibilities range from design coordination, creating and managing project plans to supervising several projects from start to finish.

Current projects Bowie has worked on are focused on IP’s and brands, to bring the worlds of beloved characters and properties to life. Recent projects include: The Smurfs Village in Motiongate Dubai, Shaun the Sheepland in Skånes Djurpark & Nickelodeon Adventure in Murcia.
