Evelyne Villame
Host - Evelyne Villame, Company Director, Loisirs & Marketing

Evelyne led marketing strategy, brand and product development for more than 20 years, working for the French group Compagnie des Alpes , Parc Astérix and Musée Grévin as well as for various leisure facilities around Europe. In 2009, Evelyne plunged into the “small is beautiful” business and started an FEC company La Boîte aux Enfants, with her fellow partner Gaëtan Le Jariel. So far, they have developed 11 Children Entertainments Centers including those named Gulli Parc, for Gulli, the leading French kids TV channel. Evelyne’s business quest is that parents enjoy themselves as much as their children. Member of IAAPA since many years, Evelyne also sits on the Global IAAPA FEC Committee.


Steve Rhys
Steven C Rhys, Executive Vice President, Forrec

Steve is the executive vice president of FORREC Ltd., a global entertainment design company. For the past 30 years. Steve has capably directed the growth and development of the company, from its early role as a landscape design company to what it is today – a leader in entertainment design for a range of clients worldwide. Steve has helped to realize projects for FORREC’s longest standing clients, including Center Parcs, Universal Studios, Nickelodeon, Samsung Everland, Six Flags Entertainment Corp., Meraas Holding, Dubai Parks & Resorts, Hersheypark and Herschend Family Entertainment. Steve’s appreciation for what it takes to build and extend brands is highly regarded in the industry. He’s often called upon for his innovative solutions, and the network of leaders he can pull together to solve difficult challenges. Steve graduated with a BA in Landscape Architecture (1980) from the University of Toronto, where he was also involved in teaching.


Ulrike Dahl
Ulrike Dahl, HR Director, Karls Erdbeerhof

Ulrike Dahl wanted to be Germany’s youngest Hotel Director, after which she grew into the family business where she is currently HR Director. Strawberry & Co dominate her life. Because of that, she is used to the fact that a company can stretch from 20 employees to a few thousand. She is responsible for ‘Karls Academy’, providing training and teaching to the staff. Whenever she is recruiting, training or managing people, she believes that it is important to feel and to love humans. She lives her life to the fullest, believing that you should burn when you have a big fire!


Heather Barnes
Heather Barnes, Director, John G. Shedd Aquarium

Heather directs the overall guest engagements and live science experiences for the museum’s 1.5 million annual visitors. Heather has successfully led the transformation of the guest experience department, positioning MSI as a customer service industry leader. She is nationally recognized for using improvisation as a tool to throughout the museum to help engage guests, build team relationships, and teach educational content. As a graduate of the Second City program, Heather has directed, produced, and performed in several sketch comedy and improvisational shows throughout Chicago. Currently Heather is a faculty member at the Second City Training Center. Heather consults with museums across the country, and has participated in the Alan Alda Center for the Advancement of Science Communication. She has a Master of Arts degree in public policy from the University of Chicago, and she has recently served on the board of the International Museum Theatre Alliance.


Daria Bohorodzicz
Daria Bohorodzicz, Loopy's World, Birthday Coordinator

Daria Bohorodzicz works for the biggest Family Entertainment Center in Poland, Loopy's World. She started her career seven years ago as an animator in the facility. Now she is running birthday parties and the animation sector in the two locations Gdańsk and Wrocław.

Daria likes pushing the boundaries and creating a new world of animations for kids. She is always trying to organize unforgettable birthday parties for the most important customer - kids!

Working in a FEC gives her lots of fun and she enjoys being a member of IAAPA to develop herself and bringing new ideas to her Loopy World.


Janice Dunphy
Janice Dunphy, The Web Adventure Park , Director/Owner

First introduction to play and education was at 18 when she started a four-year Bachelor of Education Honours degree, followed by ten years teaching in Early Education. Following this and whilst bringing up two young children opened up a Wrap Around childcare facility, researching natural play and child development.

Fourteen years ago opened up a play centre which has developed to become an adventure park, with outside play, petting farm, two high ropes courses and various natural play areas. Three years ago after much research opened a Reggio Nursery with forest school which is expanding alongside the Web Adventure Park. Despite numerous offers of strategic positions and sites the search is still active for the next perfect location.

Janice was a founder member of the PPA (Play Provider Association ) becoming the Chair in 2005 after this, alongside the Committee moved to form FECA ( Family Entertainment Centre Association) and taking a place on the BALPPA Management Committee.

Janice is passionate about Play, and has undergone research alongside local Universities to identify the benefits of FEC environments. Offering consultancy to new companies and speaking on the subject Janice believes sharing is why she is successful today, coupled with networking with peers in the Industry.


Joachim De Munck
Joachim De Munck, Legenturia, Owner

Joachim De Munck is a former tv producer & director. For more than 16 years he worked for all main broadcast stations in the Benelux and directed commercials for A brands like Kelloggs, Coca Cola, Birdseye, Nivea a.o. During all these years his passion was theatrical shows & tv shows for children. As a magician he used to entertain birthday parties from a young age and he has seen the industry of birthday parties evolve from the nineties till now. With fresh insides how to build a birthday party centre with a theatre he stopped working for television and started training to enter the world of FEC's.

In 2012 he joined IAAPA seminars in Orlando & Europe and did a lot of internships at FEC's in the US, UK, France, Holland, Germany and visited more than 180 premises to consolidate a firm business plan for the funding of the centre. Together with some friends and theme builders from TV world he created Legenturia Indoor Fun & Entertainment Center. The 60.000 sqft centre was opened in 2015 by former EU president Van Rompuy and is Belgium’s first FEC that caters not only to kids (playground), teenagers (lasertag, bowling, zorb, escape rooms, minigolf,...) but also specializes in theatrical performances in the 300 seat theatre for birthday parties.

Joachim is grateful for all the knowledge that he acquired thanks to other IAAPA members and he likes to share some insights on domains he knows best and share some original and dirt cheap useful tricks for concepting themed birthday parties & video marketing.


Kotbi
Abdel-Majid and dr. Gaëlle Kotbi, founding partners MOBIKID'S®

Nine years ago, Majid and Gaelle opened their first children's playground outside their professional career. Falling in love with the leisure industry since their travels in more than 15 countries, they decided two years ago to dedicate 100% of their time to this industry. Their motivation is to create places where families share their free time, learn, play and build creativity together.

An entrepreneur since 1999, Majid first founded and led companies in telecommunications and security. In addition to his technical skills, Majid is used to report two hundred new business ideas every day. Since last june, Majid has been a member of the board of SPACE, the French Association for Small Parks. Majid also enjoys scuba diving and boxing coaching.

After a PhD in economics, Gaelle has been an associate professor in corporate strategy for 20 years in master programs, engineering schools and universities in France. She teaches Blue Ocean Strategy since 2010 and is member of the "Blue Ocean Strategy" teacher community. In addition, her research focuses on entrepreneurship, innovative business models and disruptive strategies in various industries such as automotive, agri-food and leisure. Gaelle was a city advisor for the past 10 years and is an administrator of a women's workplace integration project.

Associated in work as in life, they complement each other to create, develop and implement new ideas for developing innovativ leisure business models. Their next project will come soon to Paris (France).


Max Coppes
Max Coppes, De Voltage, Owner

Release the visitor's inner child and they'll receive unrestrained and honest enthusiasm. That is the philosophy behind 'De Voltage', the life work of Max Coppes.

Upon finishing his basic education, the baker's son from Horssen, born 1969, studied painting techniques and found his way into the steel industry. In 1995 he is pioneered with one of the first karting tracks in the Netherlands. The adventure started in Tilburg in an old factory hall, an adventure that nowadays still regularly gets a new chapter. In 23 years time, the cold factory hall has been transformed into the now vibrant and largest FEC in the Netherlands with more than 50 indoor activities, cafes and restaurant rooms. Max is fond of peculiarities and therefore collects various objects and decors. From a lion's cage from India to a MIG jet fighter from the cold war... everything for the purpose of surprising his audience and creating a unique experience in combination with fun activities.

Almost all decisions are made on intuition and emotion and with his creative impact also ordinary things become special. 


Christophe Chauvard
Christophe Chauvard, Qubica AMF, General Manager France, Switzerland & Africa

Since 2014, Christophe is responsible for leading the local marketing and sales force of Qubica AMF for France, Switzerland and French speaking African countries, insuring quality service to customers in this region. Christophe has contributed to the strategic plan of the company, developed a new market positioning, expanded the French sales and marketing team. Christophe’s mission is to grow the market by providing quality service and best-in-class offers to customers to allow them to differentiate themselves and grow their businesses. Christophe has a background in commercial real estate in the areas of design, development, investment, marketing and finance, commercial brands and properties with a focus on innovation and customer behaviors. He holds an Executive MBA from ESCP Europe and a civil engineering degree from ESITC Cachan, France.


Rob Hetherington
Rob Hetherington, Director of International Business Development, Lappset Creative

Rob has worked for Lappset Group for 7.5 years, initially working within the traditional business in the UK and for the last 5 years helping build Lappset Creative’s International Theme Attraction Division. Rob has worked with many IPs over the last 5 years Including Angry Birds, Lego and the Cartoon Network, as well negotiating License Agreements with Mattel and Peter Rabbit. Rob is also now leading on Lappset’s partnership with Merlin Entertainment in helping deliver Peppa Pig World of Play attractions round the world.

Steven Putzeys, Operations Manager Leisure and Entertainment, M.H. Alshaya

Steven has been working for more than 20 years in the Leisure and Entertainment industry, covering various management positions and departments from attractions, guest relations to entertainment. He expanded his career in Disneyland Paris and Compagnie des Alpes ,through Walibi Belgium and Aqualibi, developing teams and projects. In 2014 he relocated from Europe to the Middle East, where he has been working in Kuwait. Initially taking care of the operations of Kidzania, later as Operations Manager Leisure and Entertainment developing a brand new Family Entertainment Center concept: Tekzone.
