There are occasional visitors, regular visitors, … and your fans. In this session we explore the synergy between a facilities marketing department and the most loyal visitors. Learn how you can strengthen and activate your fanbase when it’s unfairly raining 1 star reviews, how you can create opportunities for them to share their great experiences and how cooperation with fan media can help to boost your business.



Moderator - Robert Owen, Director of Marketing, Sales & PR, Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Robert Owen is Director of Marketing, Sales and PR for Blackpool Pleasure Beach located in the North West of England. Robert has over 20 years experience working in visitor attraction and destination marketing. Robert has also played an active role within IAAPA having served on the Marketing & PR committee and is recognized as an IAAPA Certified Attractions Executive (ICAE).

Andre Wolf
Andre Wolf, PR Manager & Content and Social Media Coordinator, Mimikama

Andre Wolf is a member of "Mimikama - Verein zur Aufklärung über Internetmissbrauch" (www.mimikama.at). After several semesters Theologiestudium and some years of professional experience as responsible person for media and communication now the analysis of Internet contents, particularly the social media is Wolfs specialist area.

Peter Osbeck
Peter Osbeck, Senior Ride Manager, Parks & Resorts Scandinavia

Peter Osbeck (59 years old) is Senior Ride Manager at Parks and Resorts Scandinavia AB.

Peter has been working in this business all his life. He started in 1979 and quickly became Ride Manager for Gröna Lund in Stockholm in 1982. He has been responsible for new attractions and theming ever since, working closely together with the safety and technical service for attractions.

The park got new owners in 2006 and since then Peter has been Ride Manager for the Parks and Resorts group, overseeing 4 parks. He has been involved in 77 attraction projects and 6 water attraction projects so far. One of Peter's favorite challenges is to put new attractions on top of each other or where it normally wouldn’t be possible, resulting in 31 attractions (of which 7 roller coasters and 5 tower rides) on 38000 m² in Gröna Lund.  

Tessa Maessen
Tessa Maessen, Communication Manager, Toverland

Tessa Maessen (28) has been working at Attractiepark Toverland for over 15 years. She started as an assistant in the workplace and has subsequently exercised various positions. As a result, she knows the company extremely well, which is very useful in her current role as Communications Manager. Tessa has been working in this position now for a year and a half and was responsible for the communication with regard to the recent expansion of Toverland. Tessa studied Leisure Management at the NHTV in Breda.

Renée Maassen van den Brink
Renée Maassen van den Brink, Marketer and Production Coordinator, Walibi Holland

Renée Maassen van den Brink is 27 years old, lives in Amersfoort and works as Marketer and Production Coordinator at Walibi Holland since January 2016. Her main tasks are coordinating film- and photo productions, content marketing and influencer marketing. In her spare time she loves to travel, read and spend time with friends and family.

Wessel Wit
Wessel Wit, Founder & Editor-in-chief, Looopings

Wessel Wit is the founder and editor-in-chief of Looopings, a Dutch newssite about the amusement industry. What started as a personal blog in 2010, grew into a professional platform that keeps the industry, fans, mainstream media and ordinary guests informed about everything happening in European amusement parks, funfairs, zoos and other attractions. Nowadays Looopings attracts more than 600.000 unique visitors per month. Wessel consults with fans and spokespersons on a daily basis, balancing the interests of both parties.

Jordan Middleton
Jordan Middleton, Assistant Brand Manager, Thorpe Park,

Jordan is the Assistant Brand Manager at THORPE PARK Resort and uses her passion and knowledge of the themed attractions industry to bring exciting and innovative attractions and events to life at the theme park near London. Since starting her role, she has helped oversee the delivery and implementation of The Year Of The Walking Dead, including the launch of the terrifying The Walking Dead: The Ride in March 2018.

Previously, Jordan joined the THORPE PARK Resort team as Social Media Executive, a role she landed through her experience assisting with the operation of the social media channels for theme park enthusiast website CoasterForce. She used her knowledge of social media and branding to develop a unique and iconic tone of voice for the THORPE PARK Resort channels, bringing the fun and thrilling vibe of the park alive on a digital platform.

Jordan graduated with a Degree in Film in 2012 and a Masters Degree in PR in 2013. Alongside her role at THORPE PARK Resort she also operates her own theme park fan page Cupcakes & Coasters, which has over 5000 followers.
